I liked The Boys because I read it when it came out and it was a needed product at the time. Super hero comics had completely disappeared up their own ass with all the multiverse garbage so something like The Boys coming out where it was absurdly over the top and juvenile was great.

I gotta ask is this a good TV show ?

The third season was great until the finale which is the worst episode in the series. It undid the entire progress of every episode before it.

They only have two more seasons because the "good guys" are a bunch of incompetent morons.

If they handled it right, Starlight and Hughie could've manipulated Soldier Boy and Homelander to kill each other, then kill or incapacitate the survivor, and take over Vought, since Starlight was the captain that Stan Edgar wanted. Then they could have Stan Edgar working with Grace Mallory and Bob Singer keeping Vought and the US government in concert, with Starlight picking people to fill the shoes of the Seven.

Maybe they'd have to deal with that Godolkin fellow, but that shit sorted itself out in the Gen V show anyways. And with Homelander gone, Victoria would have to follow Stan Edgar's lead.

And I was right; in the end, the optimal choice for a bad guy force is a patriotic American faction with Soldier Boy and Homelander, father and son, emphasizing the fatherly angle. Too bad it looks like it's already going to break up, because I highly doubt a V1-empowered Homelander has any use for Soldier Boy. If Ben won't turn on John, John will turn on him.

Not going to happen. The ending is predictable. Homelander takes V1. Fights everyone. Gets betrayed by a redeemed Soldier Boy (to set up the Vought prequel). He will kill Soldier Boy who will sacrifice himself to save others. Then Ryan will kill him. Homelander kills his father then his own son kills him. The irony. Hughie and Starlight survive and adopt Ryan to set up Gen 3 season 3 with Ryan attending university.

Unironically one of the most annoying fucking tropes in the show.
Yes Annie, we know you’re a strong independent girlboss queen that can do anything you like, but the fact she gets genuinely pissed and seethes at hughie for opening up about his lack of manliness due to his non-supe status is a very odd and selfish reaction to have in a hypothetical situation like this. If she were an actual good character she’d understand and empathize with that. Men instinctively want to be able to protect their women, that’s just nature. Yet she shits on him and basically calls him retarded for wanting powers to defend not only her, but himself. He’s been in numerous deadly situations beyond his control because the opposition is way stronger than him.

The show really does treat Hughie’s character like some trash it can use for cheap sentimentality throughout the entire show. Sure, it would hypothetically be admirable to have a character who doesn’t bend or break to the callousness of the boys universe, but he’s just such a “fuckin pussy” as soldier boy put it. I guess the Hughie changing from boy-to-man drama is over now though, as recently starlight heroically and superman-ishly saves him when he falls out of the sky, and they both seem happy with it. The fact he gets so fucking whiney and guilty about Maverick is also stupid, you’d think this retarded simp twink would comprehend A. The severity of the situation and B. Keeping his feelings out of the job, but nope. Show has ultimately designated Hughie as the punchline sentimental soy boy and will evolve beyond that no further. Such a shame.

I’ve been talking to someone who has seen this episodes. I’ve peaced together a timeline of what happened based on our conversation. There may be one or two things that happen in a different episode than what I listed but the events do still happen. I’ve just had to kind of turn a bunch of conversations into a timeline.

Episode 4

Soldier Boy and Stan have a reckoning for their past history. Stan rips into him and mentions that Homelander is the evil that came from his loins.

Homelanders testing for V1 proves unsuccessful. Bombsight is hiding V1. Bombsight has a tense relationship with Soldier Boy but they’re former friends/teammates. His power is precision (like a computer) and he can project blasts. Soldier boy fights bombsight to obtain the V1 for Homelander.

Homelander continues to have hallucinations and kills the president publicly and takes the presidency for himself.

You see Gen V but they’re not given that much to do. The focus is on Sam, Cate and Marie. Sam’s protective of Cate

Episode 5

Episode 5 is split between the POVs of Firecracker, Terror, black noir, sister sage and soldier boy. It’s a blood bath and more than one character dies here.

Homelander also take V1 in this episode and lasers his own arm before injecting it.

Black Noir is still the same actor Homelander just scared him straight to act like the old Noir. It’s a stillwell situation where he gets to feel like noir is still alive (and like he never murdered him)

Homelander continues to descend into madness and has hallucinations of Stan and ridding the world of the unfaithful. He becomes president (after killing the current one) and has a scene with his cabinet in the White House. He kills Firecracker and sticks her head on a spike. The Deep Kills Noir and frames him for an oil spill

The explosion in episode 5 is SB throwing synapse at Mr Marathon and Mr Marathon runs through him. Synapse is a telepath and Mr Marathon is a speedster. They’re partners.

I’ve heard this part from someone who I hope doesn’t mind me sharing

Terrors POV is just him humping a Homelander toy and butcher takes it away to be cleaned

Episode 6

Homelander wants to cleanse the world of the unfaithful.

Sister Sage turns on Homelander.

Episode 6 is a back door pilot for Vought rising and has soldier boy flashbacks with bombsight and stormfront. This sets soldier boy on a path to making something right because of his past relationship with bombsight.

SB and Butcher have a fight that rivals herogasm.

Soldier Boy is an anti hero this season and has a slight redemption arc towards the end of this season. He doesn’t align with Homelanders views

Episode 7

A major death for one of the boys. I’ll reveal who but I want to see how many people guess it correctly first

Butcher, Homelander soldier boy and the deep all make it to the finale so any leaks saying otherwise are fake. The deep piranha thing is fake

It was meant to be ambiguous in Season 1 (as evidenced by her stumbling dickdrunk out of the office instead of a more realistic depiction of trauma and having an "oh shit!" look on her face once discovered rather than "Help!"), Becca's actress forced the writers to make it unambiguous because she "felt protective" of her Mary Sue character, part of the pozzing during S2. So now retroactively Redditards pretend there was never any doubt and if you don't believe that you're a rape apologist magat nazi.

The Boys Season 1 left Becca's story largely untold, and it had a disturbing effect in that viewers were unsure whether she had cheated on Butcher or something more sinister was afoot. It was something that VanSanten, who feels fiercely protective of Rebecca, wanted out on the table.

"I could tell you guys a story of when I called Eric, and I said, 'Listen, season one, we left what happened to her in a gray area. And I have dealt with fans who are horrifically nasty, and I'm sorry, but for people who are survivors, there's no gray area, and we will not leave it in this area.'
