Labour put into place an early release scheme because the prisons are absolutely overflowing, and just recently the PM said he was going to ensure that there are 500 prison places avaialble. Only way to do that would be releasing prisoners. Probably not rapists, probably just something minor, like wife beating, or sexual assault without penetration. Don't worry.

I'm sure just throwing the protesters in jail while giving them time to network and organise with each other and other prisoners wont cause problems dont the road with organised crime and terrorism. If it worked with the Irish Republicans surely it will work with the Far Right.

if they fired everyone with a job related to the protests, it would overnight destroy the country with the riots that would follow, anyone with any sense in their skull would not start throwing around pink slips at this point. people are already radicalized enough to burn down hotels with people in them, let alone fedpost a business that just fucked them and their families over personally.

That's... deeply concerning. How is that acceptable?? The clown world meme rings so true these days... They couldn't think of a better idea? Maybe build another prison or something?

Too much effort. Plus doing this lets you punish the proles twice. Once by arresting them, and a second time by releasing animals into their midst again.
