Well this sucks bros. I was planning on getting it on PC but that's not gonna happen now but does anyone know if its worth getting on console? I'm willing to give the game a try as long as it runs okay.

It's so fucking sad that buying games on release went from being a cool thing that comes with extra stuff sometimes, to a huge mistake that often comes with less features than the people who just wait will get to experience. Like just fucking delay the game holy shit

Delaying the game doesn't do anything. If a game is poorly managed as this one is, as Cyberpunk was, as No Man Sky was. "more time" will not help. Making games isn't like building a house brick by brick in a linear fashion. If a game dev is badly managed and makes shit because of that. They will continue to make shit. And no delays will fix that.

What will they do with me if I speedrun this game using every glitch and cheese strat in the book? Are they going to send the cops on me? Send a cease and desist? Fill a DMCA takedown? Lolsuit me into bankruptcy? I'm struggling to imagine what would happen.

Some of the most retarded shit I've ever read in my life. I hope this game bombs hard and that this faggot studio closes down.

as Cyberpunk was
I wasn't interested in it so I forget, but you're right. Didn't that game have 10 years of development or something like that? It's such cancer, games like this and cyberpunk get put on my never buy list big time, I don't want to give retarded faggots money just because their game doesn't suck forever.

Yes you are right. Cyberpunk had 8 years of development. Shills like to scream "If only they were given more time" But they had 8 years. It's irrelevant that they spent most of that time in preproduction and only made the actual game in two years. THEY HAD 8 YEARS. They chose to spend that time pissing around. I hate when people seem to assume time = quality. Especially when a game has already been in development for many years. If it's shit it's forever shit. Calisto Protocol has several design issues that make it shit. More time to polish the shit just gives you a smooth shit. Like No Man's Sky is currently.

That line-on-the-floor direction system is probably the best directional guide I've seen in a game. No compass telling you to go north (through a wall), no permanent giant blinking arrow, no NPC nagging you. Getting rid of that, along with not letting you listen to audio logs as you walk around based on what ProfDongs said, makes it seem like these guys missed some of the reasons why people still praise Dead Space and its immersive UI today. More games should be adopting that style, not fewer.

Spastically flailing your arm around when you got surrounded was one of the scariest/funniest parts of Dead Space 1. Sometimes you got lucky and managed to get an opening to run away, but it was always a desperate last resort. I also think you can do a horror game with melee, I personally think Condemned: Criminal Origins was great at that, but you really have to go all-in on that design. Callisto (from what I've seen, at least), doesn't really seem that way.
Melee horror CAN work, but every dev has a boner for survival horror for a reason - since resource management is the biggest horror of them all. And melee gets rid of that, meaning the devs will have to rely on actual horror.
Like imagine Fear but with melee. The horror aspect doesn't go away, and beckett doesn't get unraped just because you can punch alma in the face now.

And given that the "master of horror" dev team made this shit? I'm not confident devs in general even know how to horror properly.

Time and time again, it's been shown that the credentials of great devs of the past are utterly meaningless. Some people learned with Tim Schaefer, I personally learned with Doug TenNapel, and others with Julian Gollop. Now, Glen Schofield can be added to the list too. Hopefully, more and more will realize that, if anything, a company using past experience of a single big name in their marketing is as big of a red flag as using Hollywood actors to sell the game.

People just automatically assume that big named producers did everything by themselves, rather than enjoy a core of excellent designers and coders, and all executives were evil people who ruined the true vision rather than tard wranglers that kept the project on track. And that's besides the fact older lead devs seem to have little understanding of modern game design and get blinded by all the new toys.

Those things should have been understood a decade ago with the onset of kickstarter.

This is some EA levels of bullshit.
