@Null I'm a lawyer in Australia but can learn US laws as much as we need, hit me up if you need another set of legal eyes. I got nothing going on for a few months and I am happy to slog through precedents, case law and legislation to find anything that needs to be found.
The law is clear. This is extortion. It's just getting a fed prosecutor to care.

Don't buy stuff from Chris. He doesn't know how to package things for shipping and you'll receive it broken.

My medallion was intact and free of crusty boogers.

Actually seeing that one medallion shipped with a weird crusty booger was what put me off of buying a second one back in 2014.

So if nothing comes of this, and we have a neverending flood of people coming here from all corners of the internet, many with no understanding of christory other than that he is easily manipulated, then I have no reason than to think that this will happen again and again and again. Even if there is a virtual leash put on him, part of the fun for weirdos like this is to "crack the code". In other words, find out the best way to manipulate the manbaby and avoid detection. I predict we will see this happen again in the future, dunno when, but if there are no repercussions, people will just up their game a little and obscure their identity a tad bit better.

It took that to make you realize that buying a medallion that's an internet meme was a bad idea?

Is contacting Adult Protective Services something that can be done? I feel like it's worth a shot if it hasn't been done already.
Right, and risk Chris being put in a home where he can get real help instead of being manipulated by his mother and one chain of bozos after the another.

Extorting an autistic hick whose unfortunate life wouldn't make me want to trade, even if I had the certainty of a blissful eternity with anything that I'd ever wished for is right up there on the list of dumb shit people come up with. Right now it's a tie between which is worse: Chris' situation and that he doesn't have good chances of getting help, or the fact that there are people on this planet who spend their time abusing him.

I know im pissing in the wind saying this but i honest to god wish for a happy ending for chris, hell I wish for happy endings for many of the cows featured on this site because a good amount of them are ins shitty positions in life
Sadly, Chris couldn't get a happy ending at a Chinese massage parlor with a fist full of green cards.

I don't think there's any good reason for Rocky to believe there's an imminent threat. I'm pretty sure she scheduled going to the crazy house. It wasn't like she showed up and frogmarched him there immediately.

At any point, she could've taken him to the police station to make a formal report and give a statement, in the same way that she planned on taking him to the crazy house at some point. Chris could've provided the evidence, the receipts, and then go to the crazy house.

Rocky made a very bad judgement call.

I suppose it is a bit of a question of priorities.

Putting myself in Rocky's shoes, it seems like that decision is probably based on two facts.
1) It appears like, thanks to the good work of Marvin and Null, Chris' person and property are not in clear and present danger from these people.
2) This incident provides pretty good evidence that Chris is not capable of taking proper care of himself. And that given Barb's state and everyone else's distance from Chris on a day to day basis, noone is in a position to supervise him sufficiently going into the future. So Chris' person and property are vulnerable in the medium term future.

If you take these together, you could come to the conclusion that getting some better level of supervision for Chris is more important and a higher priority than seeking justice for this incident.

But where I definitely agree with your point is that that doesn't mean that seeking justice should receive zero priority. If nothing else, it should help Chris at least partially recover money that is rightfully his.

I am not a lawyer, but if criminal stuff is not working, is Chris in a position to take civil action against these people?

/cow/ is super bootyblasted rn

So Anna Mclerran is still in contact with Chris and thats how you guys found out Josh was still fucking with him? She knew for a month and didnt do anything?
Something like that. There's always questions about how much she knew, but I will say that at one point, we were working together to catch these dipshits, and when null got involved, she sperged out and left.

We were trying to find someone to go with Chris IRL to the cops, and every one of our options flaked on us. On Chris.

If she didn't immediately frogmarch him to the crazy house, if she had time to wait for an appointment for that, then she had time to take him to the police. That's the crux of my argument.

It's clear Chris can't look out for himself. He needs someone there with him to look after things and monitor his interaction. I think he belongs in a home. Trying to negotiate that now is a lot easier than trying to do that when Barb is dead and the house is being taken away. Chris is in imminent danger, but it isn't because of embezzled gift cards. and delusions planted by evil people. He's at risk of totally falling through the cracks and becoming homeless. The problem is that Barb (and probably Bob too) alienated everyone around them and isolated Chris to just be with her. She plans to take the house and Chris with her when she goes. The problem is, Chris will be left holding the bag. Someone in their town needs to be the one to handle this. It can't be handled by telephone and email. Rocky may not be the best option, but she might be the only option.

I just lol thinking about how the FBI showed up on Jace's doorstep for saying that he wanted to pounce "Altair style" like in Assassin's Creed onto Brianna Wu but won't move an inch with actual evidence of a mentally disabled person being forced to beat his mother and shit on the floor.

what a disgrace

It's a lot easier to send a local agent to Jace's house to tell him to shut the hell up than it is to prosecute a $6000 embezzlement case

Wait, did Chris really poop on the floor? In any event, the reason this has not gotten far is because authorities probably view this as kids goofing around on the Internet with a slow, unsympathetic person, who believes in Wu's rocks on the moon. If Chris stopped interacting a with people half his age, this wouldn't happen.
