The Coddling of the American Mind - How Trigger Warnings are Hurting College Students

What's destructive about this is the people who are actually in college to get a fucking education, instead of as a retarded repeat of preschool, are getting screwed out of an education. Not only will professors already there be dissuaded from actually educating, but quality people will stay away from the field because it just isn't worth dealing with these pants-shitting retards when they can keep you from a tenure track position by crying about "triggers" and similar horseshit.

It's time to quit coddling these fucking idiots.

You're not going to be ready for a job either if you've been spoonfed your entire life like an infant. Your boss is also not going to give a flying fuck about your "triggers" and other bullshit. And if you give off the warning signs of being the kind of entitled twat who is going to need to be fired and will then file a lolsuit, they just won't hire you in the first place.

College is supposed to be (among other things) a transitional period between childhood and adulthood. If you coddle them like they're at a daycare instead for that whole period of time, they're in for one short, sharp shock when they get out in reality and all that bullshit they were taught to expect isn't there for them any more.

Unfortunately it's too late. SJW will get all of the good jobs despite being unqualified by using threats and bullying, just like they've always done to get their way. "You'd better hire me or I'll say you raped me, you worthless white subhuman." or something like that. Won't be long until finding a surgeon who actually knows their stuff and wasn't given the job for fear of offending the SJWs will be impossible, let alone one who will agree to operate on anyone who is white, cis, male, or anything else they despise.

Employers simply *do not hire* people who show signs of being a litigation potential, either by having sued a previous employer or by putting various things in their resumes they don't realize they're doing.

It's virtually impossible to sue over not being hired without having a team of private investigators and a big firm behind you to show a pattern of discrimination.

It's a lot easier to sue once you actually do have a job and get fired.

So it's a much better risk, litigation-wise, to shy away from hiring such a person in the first place, and any competent human resources department has this as one of their specialties.

The current trend is frustrating, slathering everything in warnings... but, it's just a trend, it's not the future of society. The same moral panic surrounded lots of things my generation grew up alongside,

We were going to be amoral, murderous bastards because of overexposure to violent tv/video games
We were going to be be incapable of facing adversity because the "touchy feely" liberal education institutions coddled us and gave everyone a trophy for showing up
We were going to be easily led astray by deceitful politicians because we didn't go to the library and read books like our parents did.

The "experts" said it would happen, they published scary articles in major journals and newsmags with alarmist headlines like "Death of American [x]" or "The last great generation has been born"

And, none of it happened.

It's just another one of those things.

It's going to be as annoying as hell while it's around, but 10 years from now, people will be wondering what the fuss was when they find archived stuff like this.
