I played it for a little bit and it was pretty fun. Just stay away from the community, it's about what you'd expect for a game where the main draw is "Le heccin cuyoot aminal!!! But its.... LE HECCIN EVIL!?!" Fans of the game are so fucking pozzed its absurd

Not to be that guy, but the devs had already announced the new update, and their post was in response to some "um, akshually" journoscum piece saying it wasn't really a sex update even though its title, and announcement art all but confirmed it was.
The Cult of the Lamb devs love to shitpost like this, and couple that with the prior announcement, and the unused asset that was already in the game's code that was related to fucking (albeit it was just an unused building), and the whole "get us to 300k and we'll add the sex update" was just an example of them making fun of the situation.
I have it, and while it's fun to play, it's not worth its set price. It gets a bit repetitive after a while, and the game is still kinda buggy. I'd say if it goes on sale for half off, or less get it, but if not, don't.

Ignoring discussion about the quality of the game (since thats a whole nother can of worms), here's my opinion on the incest drama.
On one hand:
The game writing does not glorify incest. Multiple characters mention how incest is bad. It is explicitly depicted as a bad thing. The game is about two horrible people, and one of the horrible things they do is incest.
I think the concept of a co-dependent turned incestuous relationship is genuinely really interesting. It's honestly quite a fascinating look into the psyche of two people.
ON THE OTHER HAND:
It's clearly a fucking fetish. There is absolutely no way the dude who was making it wasn't writing the dialogue with one hand. It's purposefully designed to be sexy. The characters are designed to be sexy. The way Ashley teases her brother is so obviously turning the guy who made it on. If it was really dedicated to showing how bad and unappealing this kind of relationship is, they wouldn't have written it the way they did. Look at how Ashley plays into yandere tropes, look at how they made her the generic goth girl with big tits so many people simp for. A game that was truly trying to make incest out to be unappealing, wouldn't have 2 generic simp material protagonists with bad smut fic writing.
Also people who say "the game isn't about incest, it's just one ending" are fucking stupid.
