theres like 2 other scenes that imply incest one where andy makes his girlfriend do her hair like ashley and one where he tries to grab ashleys ass but overall its such a tiny part of the game that obviously implies its wrong it makes no sense this the incest game

It could end that way but I'm not sure. It seems to be setting up the demon as the final boss in one way or another, if only because the whole thing is a grimdark retelling of Hansel and gretel.

The bar is so low for horror games at this point that anything that isn't cheap jumpscares, corporate slop, and mascot horror bullshit (with contrived writing to make MattPat write 1000 videos worth of material speculating on it) is applauded (and in plenty of cases, attacked) simply for being different. Much like how Baldur's Gate 3 is only really praised (and slandered) because of how low the bar has gotten for western RPGs.
