I would say I hope Karl has his house in order, but he's already being sued by Billy Mitchell.

With youtube scams, it's never the dipshit on camera handling the money. This dates back to when you HAD to sign with an MCN to avoid copystrikes, and everyone signed with machinima.

You get some hand rubbing "manager" to handle all the "hard work" part, and you just do the videos. This is also why Harley Morenstein failed, he put the hand rubbing merchant on camera.

The thing that really bothers me is that you're waiting to select a charity, why would cite specific charities that you're going to be donating towards? You should be showing off the donation receipt like a week after at most, not have all that money still sitting in the account.

I noticed this a lot with streamers lately. I don't know if they're just trying to get brownie points by supporting a charity or really care, but I wouldn't trust the majority of them as far as I can throw them. They all have them this immature manchild nature about themselves.

This whole thing brings to mind one other thing:

People have been saying for years that Awesome Games Done Quick is a scam that actually pockets most of the money it makes. To my knowledge, that has never been verified.

But now my brain holds one of two thoughts, and they're contradictory:

Possibility A) just looking at how big a deal this thing with the Completionist is, maybe AGDQ is actually legitimate because surely if it is a scam it would've blown up and been even bigger?

Possibility B) It's coming, and will probably be exposed by another Mutahar or Karl Jobst video once he finally decides that exposing scams is his job.

Should we be placing bets?

I heard someone else say it might have been on the farms, the Karl Jobst will be the next Apollo Legend. They occupy basically the same niche on Youtube.
Apollo had a lot of good will but lost it when he extended past his striking distance attempting to sue Billy Mitchell and Todd Rodgers and entered lawsuits he prosecute.

Agreed, but lying isn't necessarily proof that the money has been stolen either. If it has genuinely been siphoned off and the balance stated on the forms isn't what is in the account, then he deserves everything that the IRS will do to him. Or maybe even suffer a worse indignity:

If it was a genuine "whoops, I didn't actually arrange the donation and its been going on too long and I'm too embarrassed to fix it so I'll just hope no one notices" situation, then he has an opportunity to make it right.

If he doesn't make it right, he deserves to be punished with whatever comes his way and should be rightly viewed as a pariah to be associated with.

As it is, it seems a shame that the people who prosper the most out of scamming are the unrepentant ones. Ice Poseidon, Sam Pepper, Logan Paul etc. have managed to steal hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars from people, but they still have people out there who are willing to associate with them. This shouldn't be the case. They should be viewed as lepers until they make things right.

If this guy is another unrepentant scammer, then fuck him and fuck everything he ever does. If he fixes it, then good on him and I hope he makes better choices in the future.

I was legitimately about to post this same sentiment but you beat me to the punch. I assumed he was using it as some "savings" account or as an emergency fund - Gets to blow any YouTube/sponsorship money on whatever the fuck he wants and still has some kind of cushion. With that being said, that's still a stupid as fuck concept. But it's the ONLY reason I can think of why someone would just have money sit there for that long, and continue to accept donations knowing it wasn't going to be donated to a charity. It's obvious he was trying to get around some loop hole, but I would assume this would make withdrawing from the account more difficult. I can't seem to understand what he was attempting to do with this besides save it for the future.
