Chris isn't schizophrenic, but he uses the whole dimension-merge alternate reality thing as a coping mechanism to escape his own dreaded reality in order to become someone else.
This way he's not actually Chris and doesn't have to deal with Chris' irl problems and worries.
Denial is a pretty basic defense mechanism present even in autists like Chris and being left unchecked it eventually leads to this.

Well that's an optimistic take if I ever heard one.

Edit: These things where he talks as Sonichu are really confusing because he's basically talking in the third person with female pronouns and refers to himself as "mama." If I'm not paying full attention, I forget this and have to remind myself that "mama" isn't Barb.

Someone told me now that Chris is getting talked about by the mainstream youtubers (vsuase is 100% mainstream look at all thier memes) that Chris is going to end up getting a bunch of msm white knights.

Probably, but remember this current version of Chris is pretty quick to cut anyone out of his life who doesn't go along with his nonsense, which only leaves complete wingnuts like Sockness.
Chris isn't easy to manipulate and pretty obstreperous when pushed to get help.

"Barb" has been the preferred term for a while now. He's probably ceased loving his mother for some time, probably since the second name change.

I've said it before, but him roleplaying as Sonichu isn't just some arbitrary thing, it's an intrinsic part of his coping mechanism. Chris is aware of his faults, he's aware he's tired, and alone, and unsociable, and everyone hates him, and everything bad happens to him. So he replaced himself with Sonichu. Sonichu is infallible in Chris' mind, he's a cool superhero who Chris idealizes, and he can take life better than Chris can, while Chris safely stores his ego away in a fantasy land.
 
Vsauce interviewing CWC makes watching YouTube worth it, even if it is only for one day and everything just goes back to media-approved normalcy.

I feel like if someone got through to him he could harness that and at least improve his life somewhat. I mean, no one will but it's a nice thought.
