We all like games here, but I'm sure we've all seen things gamers do that make us feel utterly ashamed simply by association.

I found this today and it gave me the inspiration for this topic:

If you don't want to click it, you select a game listed (Xbox exclusive only, at least in this listing) pay a stranger on Ebay and give him your Xbox sign in info, and he'll play the selected game for you to 100% to get all the achievements on your account.

That's it.

Achievements/trophies are already autistic as fuck, but to pay someone you don't even know to get them for you, what are you even bragging about at this point? It already has 38 sales too. People have actually bought this. :cryblood:

Share some of your horror stories.

Hell, I'd be down for a thread where we make fun of everything surrounding achievements. Pointing out terrible achievements, finding outrage from people who are mad that they can't get an achievement anymore due to servers closing, the kind of psychos who buy every single game on their platform just to buff their gamerscore.

I just checked to see who has the highest gamerscore right now, and apparently some guy broke 2,000,000 as of 2019: https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/highest-xbox-live-gamerscore

Shieet, I remember when the top gamerscore was around the 100k mark.

I don't get the obsession with those "Insert game here" special edition consoles. Like, why would wanna buy a new ps4 just for the spiderman logo?
I'm not judging anybody for how they spend their money but I know a sonyfucker who owns 10 of these things.
FUCKING TEN

Watching incel gamers get super butthurt whenever a non-white/gay/trans character gets put in a game is pretty cringe.

People who collect console variants are on the abyssal plain of video game collectors

Console versus PC tard fights.

Ok, fine, some games do objectively run better on PC, won't dispute that. Still, if you having genuine fun on whatever system you choose to play games on, what's the point in shitting on those who have fun on something else? Just play your games and be glad you got what you felt was your money's worth.

Especially when it's in some context where absolutely nobody would have even noticed it 20 years ago, but they're insisting some totally normal shit is SJW shit somehow.

The fat ones don't know what bathing is or what deodorant is.

Also, gamers still being adamant that game journalists tell the truth and should always be trusted. Back in my day we bought several magazines and still thought about renting a game just to be sure a game warranted a low rating score. The internet really brainwashed gamers.

buying digital copies of games when you could've either pirated it or bought a physical copy that's actually resellable, collectible, and can't be taken from you when you get permabanned from Steam next year for calling someone a fag.

paying someone to get achievements for you is potentially even more disgusting than DSP's gacha addiction, depending on how much money is spent.

I just don't like seeing people waste money while having an inferior (less fun) experience. $300 console + $60 of games per month for 12 months = $1020. or you could get a $1k PC and pirate all the games and have far more fun, a far bigger selection of games, the ability to mod games, etc. I'm not shitting on you, just trying to help you not make the same mistake next time when the PS5/XboneX 2 Series Elite Edition Extreme is released. just get a PC instead. the only acceptable reason to get a console is for exclusives.

Too many gamers are too cynical and absurdly hard to please, a game basically has to be absolute perfection to please some gamers otherwise it's shit, there's no middle ground.

It's basically an extreme bias against new games, for these kind of gamers if a game is new, it's shit, it's never as good as games used to be, it's serious rose colored glasses.

I think there's mainly two groups of these kind of cynical gamers, those that are stuck in the 8 bit and 16 bit console eras and those are stuck in the late 90s and early 2000s PC gaming scene.

I love both of those eras of games as well but you have to accept that things change and one shouldn't let nostalgia make you unable to appreciate the present.

I just don't understand calling yourself a gamer and making it your number 1 hobby but hating most of what you play, why are you wasting your time and money?

I'm not saying you should like everything that's out there, sometimes there are perfectly valid criticisms to make of something, but I just don't understand that extreme cynicism you see, where some gamers begrudgingly admit a game is good as if they'd rather complain and hate that they can't complain much. I just don't understand that at all.

When it comes to gamers in general, whether it's the cynics or the ResetERA type SJWs everyone needs to lighten the fuck up and learn how to have fun again.
