Basically, this. But it's not limited to sexuality.

A faggot is anyone who takes some aspect of their life that everyone deals with - their sexuality, their diet, their hobby, their mode of transportation, whatever - and makes it an insufferable, inescapable front-facing aspect of their life that they deliberately inflict on everyone in the same hemisphere as them.
 
yeah faggot basically evolved on the onlines like how it used to mean bundle of sticks or dumb used to mean unable to speak
it just basically means "person I don't like"
