Can you please elaborate? The release of the remake really scratched an itch and made me install the original again, but the only way I found to make controllers work is to go with mods (NorthernUI), however it partially feels a bit janky and for some reason the quick slots are not working.

The original PC release has only basic DirectInput gamepad button support and poor analog stick consideration, plus the menus don't take contextual RB/RT into consideration. On 360/PS3 it all feels really seemless.

You can map things all you like, you can download some preconfigured steam controller profile, but you can't ever really fix the controller support. Using a steam deck trackpad as a mouse can help but it's still jank.

The remaster like most games in the past 15 years has controller support in par with the console releases.

So if you're playing the original PC release you're better off using a keyboard & mouse.

Until a few days ago you couldn't get good controller support on PC.

I had to use a few mods to make it usable yeah, and even then I had issues with the shortcut menu. Besides the controller mods, I was playing with dlcs only, no unofficial patches

Do we have any indication that outer wilds 2 won't flop? Obsidian hardly made anything of note post new vegas and both their attempts at third person action rpgs bombed (albeit in different ways).

Avowed is veilguard 2.0, and the developer actively shitting on white people pissed off a lot of potential buyers.

Outer wilds moved copies by sheer name alone sure, but its wiki its still incomplete because it completely failed to build a fanbase and nobody gives a fuck about that game anymore, whereas people still talk about new vegas. They essentially burned all their goodwill for a mediocre product.

And we do have precedent for this because the same thing happened with pillars of eternity. First one sold like hotcakes because of the obsidian name, people played it, realized "wait its actually kinda shit" and when the sequel came out it flopped because nobody bought it.

Its pretty clear by this point that the obsidian that made new vegas is dead, they burned all goodwill they had, and their last 2 independant projects of note bombed hard.

Does anyone really think outer wilds 2 will be good, even excluding dei/esg meddling?
