I would argue that the problem with Unreal games isn't that they look the same, but that they feel the same. Same issues, same glitches, same army of pajeet coders making a pig's breakfast every time.
For some reason Unreal engine games always feel more floaty than other engines
I'd argue that's a more systemic issue with the state of game development.
It feels like everyone they hire only has a basic understanding of development and games. And just does the bare minimum not going into making it better.
Oblivion is a great example of that.
We can see with Reshade that its easy enough to fix the coloring issue, but no one bothered to look at the original and go "oh the original looked like this, we should make some slight changes."
They just left it. They don't care.

I don't think it's just incompetence, it's just blatant disregard of the art direction and vision of the original game and they think they can do better.

Maybe it’s not the engine but rather the Indians that use it?

Maybe, but this was a problem before pajeet coders was a thing. When Unreal Engine 3 was the norm I could always detect it because the engine was shit at texture pre loading and streaming so you would always notice pop in if you changed a scene or there was a camera cut in a cutscene

I remember that I tried editing mods in XCOM back in the day and as I recall it didn't play nice when you tried to tamper with them in seemingly trivial ways. Also mods like long war required steam verification for some unknown reason.
Wait, really? Well that's fucking dumb. And here I thought the Long War guys were cool back in the day.

Why is it modders never seem content with "Hey look what I can do! You like it guys???" and instead turn into egotistical paranoid retards about dumb shit?

It's a disappointment how low peoples standards have gotten.
I believe the niggercattle always had zero standards, but it wasn't obvious until recently, because the entertainment industry did not fully accommodate to their non-existent needs and held itself to some degree of quality. However, in the past 10-15 years, corporate greed, combined with the woke infestation, has driven away all the passionate, talented people, so we are left with low grade slop, made by lazy, incompetent hacks. Joe Average barely notices the difference, because he just sees colorful pictures moving on the screen, which is more than enough to keep his lizard brain entertained. You see, he never cared about intricacies like a coherent plot, thoughtful dialog, well-designed gameplay, art direction, or cinematography. This is why he keeps telling you to "just turn off your brain bro". He never had his brain turned on, hence he was never able to deifferentiate between low and high quality content. For him, it was always just content, to be mindlessly consumed. I do not really see an end to this, unfortunately. The industry will never put in the extra effort, as long as it can make big bucks by selling trash to the masses. Any change must happen from within, because people won't change. Sadly, the rot runs deep and I have no clue what needs to happen to remove the current cabal of talentless idiots who run the show.

Take this with a grain of salt, but from what I remember it needed steam to be running either in order to work or to be installed, which is why it doesn't work on the cracked versions since whatever they do to circumvent steam verification prevents longwar from finding whatever it's looking for.

I'm going to shit out my opinion here and add a bit of discourse to this thread; I am enjoying it so far.

It's same the old broken Oblivion wrapped up in a steaming pile of Unreally optimized Engine. I'm not sure how they worked their Hindu magic, but on a technical level I am impressed and also horrified at the mess that has beset my eyes.

Poorfags have a chip on their shoulder about not being able to run UE5 games on their smartphones.
The UE juice is not worth the squeeze in many occasions, AAA studios like it because of the large pool of cheap workers in China and India that know how to use Unreal which makes outsourcing easy, they don't have to train them to use their in house modifications/engine. It's easy to get next gen graphics with little effort out of it, but it unoptimized

Do the exploits/cheats from the OG work on the remaster?

Fuck, man. I was hoping this was going to be at least decent, overhauled in the right places and left intact everywhere else, given some cool visuals. I'd have picked it up on sale in like a year.

console commands mostly work from my experience, not sure about exploits

Imagine the remaster getting a UOP patch slapped in one of the .esp.
That's the real deal. Not even engine fixes it seems more than the obviousn x64 UE5 slop.

I'll definitely pick it up when it hits that 5-10bucks sweet range in 6 months to a year.
