Turning gender into character backgrounds was funny but it didn't solve the problem of the male background being better every single time. Strength and endurance >>>>> willpower and personality

The sad reality is that the majority of people who suck off Morrowind have not actually played it extensively... but HAVE listened to hours upon hours of Youtube essayists sucking it off and building up a false image of what the game is. This is even worse with how heavily modded the game is, now. People that do play the game probably spend the majority of their time playing mod content that vastly outclassed vanilla shit.
You see this in how Skywind is taking fucking forever to release because they have to make the game that the terminally online essayists are telling the 16 year olds Morrowind was

That Dagoth mod/parody video I posted a few pages back apparently is a real actual thing and not just a joke. It's supposed to be reddit Dagoth Ur, but it seems far more like brainrot Dagoth with the zoomer dialogue. I will admit there is some gold in there.
A friend of mine installed that mod and has played about 20 hours worth or more. She said it's like having a friend that never shuts up but is usually funny enough to want to keep him around just a bit longer. Also he says some severely uncomfortable gay stuff half the time.

Some of the humor in the dagoth mod is fucking hilarious.

People VASTLY overstate how punishing and particular Morrowind is with what you can and cannot do. They also pretend like the game is some masterclass in story and character when the majority of dialogue is copy and pasted Wikipedia links.

Morrowind discourse hasn't evolved in the last 10+ years, the only only thing that's changed is the people participating in it. I put most of the blame squarely on the Patrician video. IMO it's a good video but it's also introduced a bunch of fags that should be off playing their heavily modded Skyrim into the mix.
And Nexusmods will ban it immediately.
Rusty really should consider beefing up the RPGHQ mod repo before the game drops, whenever that is. I think Josh mentioned something about helping out with hosting back when EA was trying to fuck Rusty over some Sims mod but what it really needs is a dedicated page for mods instead of rooting through the corresponding thread.

I feel like the best is when you ignore Kirkbride after a certain point because his shit is masturbatory. The Underking and Heart of Lorkhan were effectively already a thing prior to him re-writing them.

I have been looking for something to play, I have never played any bethseda games except Starfield which I found incredibly boring and deleted it after a day. I had morrowind on my xbox as a child but I only got as far as the character creation screen before I decided to play GTA or something instead. I pirated the oblivion remaster, and I hate it. Like starfield it is very boring. The gameplay is bland and clunky, and I still do not know how to find a detailed skill description of spells in-game. Anyway, I am posting because I deleted Oblivion and I have a Skyrim key from when it was given away free, should I even bother installing it? Is it a huge improvement to Oblivion or more bland clunky sleep-aid?

TLDR if I hate oblivion will I hate skyrim?

Map design in Skyrim is a lot better with more verticality in the world and dungeons that hide their copy-pasting better than Oblivion's. Other than that, pretty much everything else is the same clunkiness.

And so it begins and ends.

I have my magic, my potions, and my fists. That is more than enough.

seriously, i have no idea why you're even bringing this shit up
i didn't even make it to the ashlanders

You are no god, Voryn. Neither you, Vehk, Ayem, or Seht were ever gods to begin with. You are misguided fools who took and trusted in power outside of themselves. I know it might not seem like it to you, but you are not the dreamer. You are not even yourself anymore. It's time to rest.
speaking of dreams and dreaming, i had to CHIM my strength back to its base 100 because i kept annihilating the heart and dagoth out of existence, breaking the game's scripts
fuck off, ashnigger.png

Bitch, I don't even know why you're here. I'm going to go do Telvanni and actual living god things.
Morrowind is really fun in how broken it is. But all TES games are like that and different in their brokenness. Think I really needed to play this. And now I can flaunt that on the internet and laugh at the faggots who are obviously pretending like they played Morrowind but only listened to video essays.

I still do not know how to find a detailed skill description of spells in-game
What do you mean?
Do you mean you're not seeing which skill the spell belongs to, or is it a detailed description of the spell effect you're after?
Cause both should be fairly self evident by just going through your spell list.
Now you might not get a long description of how each spell effect works, but it should be fairly self evident except for perhaps some spells effects like Silence, Demoralize, or Feather

A detailed description of how they work/what they do. Lots of things like that are in game. I picked up some rune things and it says "use", ok what does it do? Click more info and it just says "Damaged on use". Great thanks. Some of the spell names are obvious what they do but some are not, and clicking show more info just shows my effectiveness for casting spells, all spells, no more info about that spell other than what is displayed which is only duration and an arbitrary point number which I assume is the potency. I cannot think of any other RPGs that do not show you a detailed description of the skill when you hover over or click "info", even pre-2006 rpgs.

Another example is staves, I found some enchanted staves and it has a random spell attached to it, what does that do? Does it apply when I cast a spell, is it on hit, do I get that spell temporarily? I like to play games blind without a wiki or guide opened on a different monitor as it sucks out all of the fun, especially just to see skill descriptions. I am sure it is available somewhere in game, but I could not find it.
