Go a bit further back to Daggerfall and that game beyond being a longhaul dungeon crawler, you were just a complete random dude that just gets wrapped into all the political schemes from powers that be despite your main goal of just finding out what made a previous king want revenge from the grave. And even in the end of that when you find some magical item everyone wants, you aren't even worthy of using it and an ending Bethesda wasn't able to put in the game had you die if you thought of harnessing that power. Skyrim could of done more to being dragonborn than just because you are.
Yeah the founder of the Empire and now GOD of humanity is Tiber Septim who was also a Dragonborn. You would think Imperial factions would be either desperate to recruit and safeguard you and Make The Empire Great Again or desperate to kill you to preserve their status quo and their power? Not even mentioning the amount of likely traitorous factions in the Empire who are either seccesionists, Thalmor spies, corrupt, establishment stooges, daedra cultists or power hungry, not inclduing the foreign powers that would fuck with you too i.e. ELVES

They've could have done a lot more, Skyrim

You mention Tamriel Rebuilt Dres without even posting the concept art of their Matriarchs? Shame on you.

Reminds me of what Altmer clothes should be, just with more garish colors, crystals, and asymmetry.
The concept art throughout the threads on the TR forums is really something else. Hoping they implement some of the more wild Telvanni designs to really emphasise the Telvanni's sheer weirdness plus I'm looking forward to how nordic and dunmer styles look together when the Redoran heartlands are released bordering Skyrim.

The Dragonborn expansion should have been way more like Tribunal. There's so much to go into with you being the Dragonborn for literally *every* faction, and instead everyone just acts like it's no big deal.

Yeah, I liked the Dragonborn DLC but felt a lot more could have been done. It could have definitely been similar in plot to Tribunal where some faction (Thalmor) send a Dark Brotherhood assassin after you (If your're leader of skyrims DB this could be a cool point of drama where other DB branches are either rogue from religious schism (An incarnation of Akatosh, an aedra and being of Anu compared to Sithis, a being of padomay and the daedra, would likely seem heretical in the extreme),dominated by elves, lost belief and became mercs etc..

Not even counting the attention the Daedric Princes would have on you. This could be a cool point of choice consequences where if you done quests for all the Princes in basegame skyrim then the DLC questline is a massive clusterfuck of all the Gods backstabbing eachother to their pound of flesh from you. Really emphasise al these far flung factions coming out of the woodwork to get your attention, to even factions joining together to recruit you if you done their questlines. eg. College Of Winterhold and Mages Guild gang up on you if you complete the Collee quests with the Psijic Order playing a key role.

I mean, I don't expect that much effort from Bethesda.

But I honestly think there should have been something there between Empire/Aldmeri/Stormcloak. They all had reasons to hate you or want something from you.

Ah yeah, I'd honestly think a similar deal like in New Vegas would have been great.

it sucks that the protagonist of Skyrim is most likely going to get hand waved away like all the others, iirc the neravarine went off to atmora, oblivion protag is now sheogorath. I really would like to see a resurgence of the empire with an actual Dragonborn successor riding in on an actual army of dragons. Although I think the empire is going to die, Talos even hints it during oblivion when you meet him under the guise of wulf. I'd like to see in the new game a stronger empire and the thalmor rightfully cuckolded and impotent but that's just my bias against those filthy mer. Isn't the new game alleged to be in High rock? Say if the empire recently collapsed high rock turns back into feuding kingdoms I could see the protagonist being a prisoner of some sort, maybe to the thalmor? somehow escapes and the ends up being needing to unite the feuding kingdoms of high rock to face the thalmor threat, add in some plot twists and game you got yourself a game.

Assuming Starfield isn't delayed, how long after should TES6 be expected? 2024 at the absolute earliest, I assume. I can, unfortunately, see it even ending up as a launch title for next gen in like 6-7 years.
Probably 2025 at the earliest depending upon what size team they have working on it currently and if CE2 allows them to make content as quickly as CE1. Also depends if they're going to overhaul any core systems and what significant additions they make like if they completely change magic/ranged/leveling system etc.

I doubt Microsoft is gonna push them to rush it out though since they already basically have a large RPG scheduled for pretty much every year for the foreseeable future if my guesses of Starfield: 2022, Avowed: 2023, Fable: 2024, Inxiles game:2025 is right.

Overview of the Anniversary Edition Upgrade

tl;dr

- "Were you stupid enough to buy Survival/Rare Curios/Saints and Seducers? Well get fucked, they're free now."
- "Were you stupid enough to buy any creation club content? Get fucked, you have to buy it all again if you want the new content."
- "'member Morrowind? Here's some armors. 'member Oblivion? Here's a mythic dawn quest where they're trying to build an Oblivion Gate."
- "We're going to optimize this 10 year old game for PS5 and Series X, cause it really needed that."
- "Watch our concert."

Creation Club must have been a huge fucking dud, huh? They're having to parade an "upgrade" to get people to buy into it.

Edit: Just saw on a modding forum that everyone is like 95% sure these optimizations are simply turning off the frame limit on consoles so the game runs at 60fps, since they've said there will be no changes to the PC versions engine.

2nd Edit: Here is a list of mods that Nexus put together that will be broken by Anniversary Edition until SKSE and the mod authors update.

I saw some 4chan thread a while back where they were saying that anniversary edition would break almost every single SE mod because they're changing all of the item IDs or something. Is that true?

As far as I know, it's just mods on PC that require the Skyrim Script Extender.

Which is still a lot, but you'd know if you have them because you would have had to install the SKSE loader and .dll files in the main directory.

And to be fair, this is something that happens every time the game is updated regardless I'm pretty sure, at least for the SKSE being updated. I don't know if all mods using it have ever had to all be updated before. The best way around it is to basically load Skyrim from Mod Manager and set steam to only update Skyrim when you open it through steam instead of automatically.

I can't really see them changing all of the item ID's. I don't see the purpose to it and this thing really just seems like a cheap way to offload Creation Club jank.

It should just be that whatever the ending to the civil war was, the Dragonborn took over the Empire and fixed it up. If the Dragonborn was an Imperial, the Empire recognizes them as the heir of Martin Septim, and as reward for winning the Skyrim Civil War, the Empire crowns them Emperor/Empress once Titus Mede II either stepped down or got killed. If the Dragonborn was a Stormcloak, to prevent the Imperials from sending more troops north, they went ahead and attacked Cyrodiil with Ulfric's backing, and the Dragonborn took the throne by force and tore up the White-Gold Concordat.

The Thalmor get cucked by some new Daedric threat, or the Sloads, or the Maomer, heck, maybe a combination of all three, and they either have to appeal to the Empire for help, or solve the problem on their own. The former means the Altmer lose their independence to the Empire in exchange for getting rid of the threat faster, whereas the latter means that the Dominion can keep its freedom, but is severely weakened and the Empire starts licking its lips for Round 2 of the Great War.

The skyrim Dragon born is not connected to Alessia in anyway, also your fanfiction sucks

Alessia and the Last Dragonborn are both Dragonborn, so why not? The Imperial throne belongs to the Dragonborn.
Nordic Dragon borns are related to Kynereth, not akatosh, there where people during the oblivion crisis who where related to Tiber Septim other than Martin, When martin sacrificed himself at the alter to summon Akatosh it ended the red ruby dragon borns. The nordic dragonborn was in no way connected to this, the Dragonborn was dicking around Falmereth collecting the souls of dragons because they where shirking their duty. the Red Ruby dragon borns where made from a covenant to remove the Alyied demon kings who had abandoned their pact with Akatosh (the founder of merific culture), no wonder you prefer disneys spaceshit TM, you must have empty space where the rest of us house or brains on how often you sperg out on this thread over basic fuck ups

What differentiates Dragonborn though? At the end of the day it all comes down to the dragon AKA or akatosh giving you dragon blood and soul or using something like Methrunes razor to trick your way into it. Kyne's only association is teaching mortals how to shout, not making Dragonborn, that's only reserved for the time dragon. there isn't any fundamental difference as far as I can tell between the dragon blood outside of descent.

Boring

I don't know why so many are obsessed with the Empire. It's like the most hardcore fanboys somehow missed the entire fucking series since at least Morrowind but really Daggerfall has been about the Empire falling apart.

I tried playing Skyrim with the CC Survival mode since I got it when it first came out for free. God Damn I forgot how much of a piece of shit this is. You have to eat a god damn feast to recover a sliver of fucking stamina. Whole thing is unbalanced as fuck. No wonder they gotta give this shit away for free now.

The Empire was at the height of power in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. If it wasn't for Mehrunes Dagon invading, they'd still be in tip-top shape.

Where the hell do you get that? ALL Dragonborns are related to Akatosh because they have the soul of a Dovah inside a mortal body, and all the dragons are children of Akatosh. You're basically Thor and Akatosh is Odin.

Alessia was Nedic, and the race was wiped out, minus one individual. If anybody had the right to the throne, it was Miraak. But the argument is void, because covenant with Akatosh was ended by Martin and his destroying of the Amulet of Kings.
Any Dragonborn will do. A Dragonborn who cleans up the mess Ulfric made in Skyrim will have a decent shot at becoming the next Emperor/Empress, especially if the previous Emperor was killed by the Dark Brotherhood. Meanwhile, a Stormcloak Dragonborn can justify war against Cyrodiil by saying that the Ruby Throne belongs to the Dragonborn, and that the throne rightfully belongs to them.
