Thinking about it, I don't really like how skyrim's removed classes and the reworked birthsigns.
Without attributes, classes can't really exist. I lament Skyrim removing attributes but once that Rubicon was crossed, I think cutting classes was the correct call. They could have made racial bonuses more pronounced though but that goes against the "race no longer matters" philosophy of Skyrim.
I believe there was room in Skyrim for both standing stones and birthsigns to coexist but once again this runs afoul of the fear of forcing the player to commit to anything.

think the thalmor are suppressing talos worship as part of a long game to destroy the world,

I don't think so, just for the much more petty reason that their ideology of Mer supremacy doesn't make much sense if the only mortal to ascend to godhood without mantling was a man.

And as time goes on the less and less I'm thinking that they'll follow through with the Tower theory, because Emil's an absolute mongoloid only worth testing hammers on.

Yeah that's kinda how it was Oblivion, you picked a sign at the start of the game and there were also the doomstones that corresponded with each sign and gave you special spells. Again, they're averse to making the player commit to anything besides race and gender at the beginning of the game.

I sorta like how standing stones have passive effects mixed in with the powers as opposed to the doomstones being 100% powers. I'll come clean, I forget about powers most of the time. It's a magical setting and the world could always use more magical doodads.

Morrowind's combat is just swinging and hitting. Not even crits (unless if you're a gay sneak abuser)

Oblivion had least had some masteries in combat skills. Hand-to-Hand is really my first choice when replaying. Knocking back enemies and lowering Fatigue between is so fun.

Skyrim, on the other hand... just use Swords or Greatswords: bleeding damage doesn't work to specific enemies and lowering armor is bullshit in general.

Yes and no.
Doomstones doesn't have the same properties as birthsigns.
A birthsign is still game changer. You can't just pick Atronach and get away with it (except if you want to do only melee combat which is basically 50% spell absorb)

I always forget about Dragonskin.

Making your own spells in Oblivion was probably the most interesting bit, even if there were strongest spells affordable, you were able to make up for some absolutely insane shit.
Skyrim does have a better enchanting system than the previous entry, but all the spells and even most shouts feels lackluster but flashy.
The master level spells in particular are ass, the requirement to get those is a set of some of the shittiest quests fron the worst guild (aside of bard), using them require a cast animation that is gonna kill you and will always brung a lackluster result when compared to a double cast of the second best spell of the same type.

Implying there will be any racism in 2020s Elder Scrolls.
>Make Dunmer named Saraynos Tree-Torcher
>Treat all races as poor as possible, even fellow Dunmer
>Use exclusively fire spells on Wood Elves
>Secretly murder Argonians
>Steal from Khajit
>Never engage N*rds in melee combat
>Never engage Piss Elves in magic combat
>List goes on
It will definitely take heavy amounts of roleplaying because "current day" politics will invest all AAA games, but they can't stop you unless they prevent you from attacking anyone who isn't explicitly evil. I wonder if the next ES (or FO for that matter) flops, Bethesda might either get full absorbed into Microshit or mass firings will take place. I hope. Not like I'm going to buy anything from them anymore, last thing I bought was Skyrim and fuck me did I regret that for years until modding blew up.

Anyone has any more suggestions, ideas, lore to post, feel free.
I think you can fairly easily headcanon a reason for any of the races to join in with the Stormcloaks by just leaning into their anti-empire nature. The Empire, especially as it is now, has made a mess of things across almost all of Tamriel, and is so infested with Thalmor Kikery that any hope of them actually throwing out the elves and going back to war is highly unlikely.

The Dunmer don't like anyone, but a lot of them especially don't like The Empire for all the fuckery they were putting Morrowind through during their occupation. When I play Dark Elves in Skyrim, despite the Grey Quarter shit, siding with Stormcloaks is almost a given for this reason alone.

Keep in mind, the tension between the Nords and the Dunmer isn't even primarily race motivated. The Nords feel slighted by The Dunmer because the dark elves want all the benefits of living within the city and being citizens of Skyrim, but throw their hands up and say it isn't their problem when it comes time to join in on the fight for Skyrim's independence. With some stretching I think you could very easily come up with a deal between the two groups. Hey, fight for us and we will elevate your people and put our differences aside, type shit.

God... They're going to nigger up all the races, aren't they? For some reason there will be black Nords and Imperials. There will no doubt even be nog Khajiits and Argonians, who will lecture you on how terrible it is to expect Khajiit to not be thieving skooma addicts because it is just their culture and socioeconomic factors bro.

Fuck it's going to suck.

"How do you do, fellow Redguards?"
