And the switch to Unreal for the remake pretty much kills the modding scene before the game is even out. Unless they somehow figure out a way to shoehorn CC in, which would be surprising. But also very funny.
Just be glad they're not doing this to Morrowind. Yet.

I'm curious to see what they did with the UI.
Do you think they kept mechanics the same? I am going to laugh so hard if they did away with the combat system that TES is famous for (even if the castrated it in Skyrim) in favor of something more action oriented.

Well, Morrowind is one of my favorite games of all time, so I am glad indeed. Though I am confident that they will never touch it anyway. I think it's a combination of a weird looking game, highly political in its main content and strange lore. Not to mention, they would need to remake everything from scratch so modern audiences don't suffer an aneurysm whilst playing the game. Would be surprise if they could recuperate the costs selling it twitch to streamer and their audience.

Morrowind's obscure setting keeps it safe from consoomer niggers.
Too much reading, too much thinking, nothing they can relate to.

Maybe hopium but I think the bulwark against the enshittification of Morrowind is Todd. He's stated he doesn't want to remake/remaster it and while that can be interpreted in various ways, be it fondness, laziness, or other political reasons, I think it's probably safe for now. As soon as Todd is gone though, it's 100% getting niggered to Secunda. It'll be unrecognizable.

If its a miserable shit show that may be the end of TES.

reputable sources are now reporting that they are about to drop the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake quite literally a week from now, the one beginning April 21.

This would actually be very weird. Bethesda is very good about their marketing and usually start buliding up hype months ahead of release. Kinda makes me wonder if it's them disowning the project, or if it's all up to Microsoft now, because they, conversely, are comically bad about marketing their shit these days.

While there was a lot of disappointment with the presentation of Cyrodil compared to lore, but the medium-fantasy, LOTR vibe and color palate holds up. It might be nostalgia speaking but it's sincere and genuine. I have no idea why they gave it the mexico/COD map filter. Maybe to make the Oblivion crisis seem more apocalyptic?

Also fuck them making the dryad less human-like and sexy. I bet they'll give the fire atronach a shorts and skirt combo as well.

However, their body is made up of 87% fire, and 100% fire surrounds them. That could kill me if I tried to have sex with one. Before we went into the Planes of Oblivion, the Flame Atronach let all the Daedra know that we are just here for sex. The Daedra will not attack us because they know I am here at the Planes of Oblivion on sexual business. This includes the Dremora. However, the Dremora Marknyaz thinks that I am going to be an easy recruit for becoming a follower of Mehrunes Dagon considering that I am having sex with a Flame Atronach. However, I have no interest in becoming a Daedra.
