I was watching Fleekazoid's review on Bloodlines 2 when I saw another review in my recommended. I saw the name Craftian and thought I recognized it, sure enough after a bit into the video he mentioned his part in the mod Old Blood for Skyrim (though you may recognize his
other mods. I'm linking to his itch.io because a few months ago some shit went down and he deleted his entire Nexus profile (and thus all his mods), while there are several archives I find linking a first party source to be better.
Have not watched it or really looked too deep into it because whogivesafuck so I may be very wrong, but from what I gather from skimming and hearsay, the VA for his Celestine mod was asked to voice a Beyond Reach addon for the character, Beyond Reach is a dark mod with dark themes (I've seen many people cry about that, they're usually the "usual suspects") so she said no, he sperged out, jannies told him to take it elsewhere, he sperged out harder and said everyone was out to get him, it escalated into him removing his mods off Nexus and host them elsewhere. Good, Nexus sucks. While I don't know what the original script said, some mentioned they didn't see anything noticeably wrong with it, but because it was dark (again, Beyond Reach), even if it seemingly had good character development for the follower and sounded good from what people had seen themselves (again I not seen the script myself), it was too much for the sensitive VA.
Reactions to the drama were mixed it, but personally I saw more people in support for the guy when actual discussion took place after the top snarky posts expected from plebbitors. Some even believing his departure from Nexus being good since it was clearly getting to him and even plebbitors know Nexus is a shithole. Some however claimed that the mod author mistreated the VAs he worked with, but between the sensitivity of some of the VAs (will mention that more later), one of the more seemingly normal VAs expressing their positive experience from him (maybe more but I haven't checked that much), some of the other VAs' (such as the Celestine VA herself iirc) lack of professionalism and just failure to have a stable timeframe, I think the accusation "mistreatment" is just pussies being pussies that they can't put off work until they feel like working.
Craftian himself makes content on YouTube picking apart games and sharing his opinion on a variety of others, because of this the aforementioned drama (now largely dead because it was just a lot of nonsense) was twisted a bit by one or more aforementioned former VAs that worked with him. Why? Because he dared to talk about Tumblrfags, Critical Role cultists, and fags in general ruining shit is a no-no so that's an excuse to try and shit on his reputation. Funniest part, most of what this stems from is from an actually quite
mild video, yeah,
singular. But even mild is spicy to the Tumblrite. My advice for him? Work with people who gives reasonable timeframes, are known to complete work within a deadline, and have worked on things of heavy themes. Might be harder than it sounds...
