You have a point. But there are some very good mods that don't bring any bullshit to the game, just make it better.
Eye of the night toggle for the khajiits, for example. Although in the end, I made my own "mod", to make eye of the night a constant ability.
Another one I use is a different crosshair.

Another really cool one is full body awareness. Allows you to see the body of your character from the first person view.

Another one I remeber is the one that makes all the keys detectable by the spells. In the original game, the key is something that opens a door. Not all of the keys in the game open doors.

CBBE or a body mod is needed so modded armors work. Amorous Adventures is worth it for the quest where you help Ysolda get a mammoth's tusk so she can fuck herself with it.

I've played enough Postal 2 and New Vegas for this to make her my favorite Skyrim NPC (but the Camonna Tong drug smugglers from Morrowind obviously outclass her since they also disembowel a Khajiit body packer to extract a shipment of moon sugar from her stomach, which is a twofer in my book).

Until you land on one that forces you to download from nexus and you're sitting there for hours clicking the same few links over and over and over and over again.

As much as I hate nexus the smartest thing they ever did was put auto downloading behind a paywall, business wise.
