To be fair, the Snow Elves had the Snow Prince, who was such a great warrior that he filled the most battle-hardened Nords with fear and when he was killed, the Nords respected him so much that they buried him in the style of royalty and wished that the Nordic gods would look after him in death
They just make a bad first impression, I guess. Between Mr. "Oh I could totally help you with my brother, but I'd be violating my knightly vows!" and "BAWWW Auri-El doesn't love me! I'm going to do some stupid bullshit with prophecies because I consider Auri-El beyond my reach!" ("Get on my level, scrub" - Marukh, probably).

Behold, your ultimate Elven hero:
Finna, daughter of Jofrior, a lass of only twelve years and squire to her mother, watched as the Snow Prince cut down her only parent. In her rage and sorrow, Finna picked up Jofrior's sword and threw it savagely at her mother's killer. When the Elf's gleaming spear stopped its deadly dance, the battlefield fell silent, and all eyes turned to the Snow Prince. No one that day was more surprised than the Elf himself at the sight that greeted them all. For upon his great steed the Snow Prince still sat, the sword of Jofrior buried deeply in his breast. And then, he fell, from his horse, from the battle, from life. The Snow Prince lay dead, slain by a child.
tfw your mastercrafted enchanted breastplate gets penetrated by a sword thrown by a 12 year old girl.

Excerpt from Volume 3

When Huna, whom Pelinal raised from grain-slave to hoplite and loved well, took death from an arrowhead made from the beak of Celethelel the Singer, the Whitestrake went on his first Madness. He wrought destruction from Narlemae all the way to Celediil, and erased those lands from the maps of Elves and Men, and all things in them, and Perrif was forced to make sacrifice to the Gods to keep them from leaving the earth in their disgust.

And he'll fuckin do it again, hyuck. Excerpt from Volume 6

“O Aka, for our shared madness I do this! I watch you watching me watching back! Umaril dares call us out, for that is how we made him!” [And it was during] these fits of anger and nonsense that Pelinal would fall into the Madness, where whole swaths of lands were devoured in divine rampage to become Void, and Alessia would have to pray to the Gods for their succor, and they would reach down as one mind and soothe the Whitestrake until he no longer had the will to kill the earth in whole.

Honestly I couldn't even give a shit about the Aldmeri Dominion anymore. Yeah I know everyone wants to larp Pelinal but they're just so fucking boring, generic Nazi standins. They'll probably just be used to contrast how 'diverse' the good guys in Hammerfell are. The only way it would be interesting is if they had the balls to make the Thalmor joinable and flesh out both sides.
So basically TES: New Vegas.

Yeah, not happening anytime soon.

The Dominion would be great as a Caesar's Legion esque joinable faction. Backstab up the ranks. Learn crazy magic. Oppress the muggles in gold trimmed drip
:cunningpepe:
Bethesda would never though

The best that you could hope for for being able to join opposing factions are either the Crowns or Forebears, both of which will be opposing the Dominion. So basically, Skyrim 2. There's no chance in Hell you being able to join the definitely-not-Nazis.

You can't really be a bad guy in Elder Scrolls. You can but it's under very specific conditions, has some nuances where you're justified and aren't really the bad guy (like killing bad people), and/or has almost no real overarching consequences to anything. TES6 evil will be safe edgy, cartoonish, Reddit tier nonsense and people will laugh at, but if you so much as wonder why you're not allowed to join the Dominion, you're demonized way worse than someone who-for example-gave Mannimarco the Mantella or wanted to join Dagoth Ur...or downloaded that one child killing mod so they can kill children (in a video game to be fair, and not all uses are the same).
God I can't wait for both TES6 and FO5, they're going to be so fucking awful and I hope it kills off the bloated dead company walking that is Bethesda.

Hope you like procedurally generated dungeons.
Literally Daggerfall, it was cool for its time and still is...when it works of course. It'll be far worse if done now, especially now that its harder to fill in the gaps with your imagination. We've also had handmade dungeons from Morrowind to Skyrim so to go from that to procedurally generated dungeons would kill a lot of the exploration for a lot of people. Look at Starfield, randomly generated from templates that often repeated itself because there aren't that many templates lol.
Fuck, you're right. Literally just Starfield in Tamriel.

I wouldn't trust Emil-Bethesda to be able to write the Aldmeri Dominion, not after 76 and Starfield. Hell, can you imagine Skyrim quests with Starfield's stupidity? "This guy has an item you need, and there's exactly ONE way to get it, seduce his trans daughter. No, you aren't allowed to kill him, break in, wait until he's distracted, or get help from his wife. There's one and EXACTLY one quest path."

I wouldn't mind randomized quests, like small pointless caves that when you enter them are one of say a dozen different random small caves, maybe with the 12 existing in the world every playthrough and the specific entrances to each one are different each time. Give them random "themed" monsters (this time cave 7 is full of vampires, last time it was full of bandits, maybe next time it'll be a bear den) and you'd be doing pretty good.

But the Radiant quest system in Skyrim et all probably wouldn't be able to handle that, and given how shit Starfield was, I don't anticipate modern Bethesda being able to thread that needle fixing it. Although now that they've fired a lot of the dead (literal) weight, maybe?

Oblivion dungeons were "handmade" in name only.

True. The textures are near the same in every dungeon.
Cave? Same green ass texture.
It's not even textures, I'm pretty sure there are just sets of "rooms" that are linked together like lego pieces.

Or maybe I've always had my settings so dark I just don't notice the nuance. It just feels like there are a lot of those "big crater in the middle of the room" and "a canyon with a land/vine bridge" areas.

I don't really hate it though. It's just something I started to notice once I replayed the game after I graduated high school I think.
