Empire wins Skyrim Civil War only to lose Skyrim to the Forsworn.

Remember? That third Breton faction also fighting the Empire in Skyrim?

Forsworn only care about the reach, and even if they wanted too they don't have the manpower needed to maintain forces in other holds capitals to have control. They also got BTFO by Ulfric and the boys alone, pretty sure any other Jarl who want to can do the same if there is enough willpower.

No, if anything's going to Red Mountain that province, it's gonna be the Falmer overwhelming the Nords.

I hope that doesn't happen since I'd like to see a past setting not get skull fucked in a sequel, but it's a possibility.

Actually, the Forsworn were petitioning the Empire for recognition before Ulfric slaughtered them. They have bad feelings towards Ulfric, and would make excellent imperial patsies.

If anything, the dragons have the best chance of driving out the Empire from Skyrim. If only Ulfric decided to go to them and resurrect the ancient Dragon Cult, he'd have all the air power he needs to burn Cyrodiil and the Summerset Isles into cinders.

The thing is, Forsworn are operating a guerrilla operation in the Imperial parts of Skyrim. They could really fuck up supply lines and such. They're not going to take over Skyrim, but they could easily help fracture it even if they also hate Ulfrics guts.

It's one of those things that goes really well with the "neither side will really will win" philosophy I have on how Bethesda will handle Skyrim Civil War in the future. The Forsworn will be a problem if either side wins.

That's not even factoring Falmer as well, which I completely blanked on in all this discussion. That probably would be an even easier handwave for the Civil War.

You blanked on the Falmer because they are a non-issue. They've been in their current state, feral, blind, and segregated in the Dwemer ruins, for thousands of years. They interact with outside society so little they're considered mythic. And even if they somehow manage to unite the tribes, which I have no fucking clue would happen due to the Dwemer not networking their underground cities past Blackreach, they're still blind and rely heavily on chaurus, who fare poorly anywhere other than those caves and ruins the Falmer inhabit. Complete shit for warfare where the war would actually be fought; I'd have a better odds of winning a fight against Mike Tyson in his prime than the Falmer do against whoever ends up controlling Skyrim.

not 200 years ago there where people who thought the riekings where the remnants of the falmer

I'm pretty sure you can do that in ESO.
Yea. It's linked to the Cyrodiil pvp area. Your faction has to capture all of the forts around the imperial city (which equals a majority of them) for a period and then the top scoring player for that "cycle" get's a new skill tree, dye, costume and a title to keep forever and while they are Emperor they are a one-man army.

I agree that the forsworn could act as great allies for the empire, at least for now, but it might cause further Nord resentment that one of their Holds is gone, worsened by the fact that the silver mines are located there.

I don't know how easy it would be to convince people to start worshipping dragons since the whole war was caused by a religious conflict, but one way I do think that could really empower the Nords (regardless of independence or re-annexation) is teaching Nords the voice and re-establishing the Tongues. Obviously, this would be difficult as the Greybeards would say no,. Ulfric is a selfish cunt so I doubt he would give away the ace up his, the power he used to kill Torygg and despite his other flaws, he does seem to feel a certain and genuine level of guilt and blasphemy using the shout for war ( Ulfric is probably only capable of Fus Ro Dah anyway, but even this would be a powerful ability). The other way could be a dragon, who is now no longer ruled by Alduin, to teach men in a similar way to Paarthurnax, but this would also be difficult.

I hope so too, I don't want to read through Red Year lore 2.0

If I were Ulfric, I'd bring in a new religion for the Nords. Saint Alessia veneration, worship of the All-Maker (which is a Nord religion in Solstheim) or bringing back the Dragon Cult and swearing allegiance to them. The third will give Ulfric enough firepower to take on both the Dominion AND the Empire at the same time, even if he has to bend over backwards for Alduin, who has no desire to end the world and instead just wants to rule it.

And yet nobody has.

Its almost like nobody is strong enough to hold skyrim and it will crumble to regional conflicts among warlords
That's because most Jarls are only going to care about their own holds first, Ulfric being Ulfric saw it as an opportunity to build some prestige, but any Jarl could have done it, it just a matter if it's worth their time and effort.

Their reach (pun not intended) is still very limited to a certain part of Skyrim and they're still only interested in their own little kingdom.

Falmer in theory attacking caravans will do more damage as they're everywhere and in every hold but unlike the forsworn they're not recognized as a military threat but more pest control.

You blanked on the Falmer because they are a non-issue.

Except, you know, with how they've suddenly started venturing out, attacking caravans and kidnapping people.

Also, Red Mountain was a non-issue in Oblivion, and now Vvardenfell is no more.

The idea that Bethesda doesn't just pull shit out of their ass, especially to explain away multiple choice outcomes, is rather funny.

I know you don't pay attention, but who the fuck do you think made and broke the deal with Ulfric to allow Talos worship in exchange for him to liberate Markarth? Who do you think is in control of Markarth at the start of the game?

Not to mention your petitioning the Empire point is stupid as fuck as they literally took Markarth by force, which was the whole reason Ulfric was sent to slaughter them in the first place.

To be honest I could see the empire promising the Reachmen an independent state if things got desperate, ala an Arab revolt situation but obviously this would not be ideal

It's now completely accurate to say that Todd Howard is no longer the most deceptive and manipulative member of a chess club I guess. So congrats Todd.

I just intended it as a joke but frankly I can understand people being confused. I ain't gonna post an entire page explaining it because I'm a tard and certainly can't explain every little detail that would be required but will assume you know about Chris Chan becoming a literal motherfucker. The person who is heavily involved in the shitshow and was involved in it was involved in the chess club of a university is someone who The Dark Brotherhood, Daedra, and Satan would reject unless they like torturing animals, incest, pedophilia, gore, scat, fart fetishism, and manipulation while also being related to glowies. It's a shitshow but Todd is no longer the biggest Chess Club member manipulator.

That wasn't the Empire. That was the local Jarl who made that offer. Said Jarl was loyal to the Empire, but he openly tolerates Stormcloak sympathizers like the Silver-Bloods.

Also, the Reachmen only took back their lands only after being abused by the Nords, and instead of seeking revenge, they just sought to restore order and even tried to cooperate with Nords in their lands. Of course, any Nord who even talked to Madanach wound up in Cidna Mine thanks to Ulfric.

I'm pretty sure even Molag Bal would tell Chris Chan to get fucked.
