The Fall Off Of Anonymous

I remember when it was about holding the banks accountable for the '08 financial crises. Before it became the intersectional shitshow with progressive stack human megaphones.
In '08 gay rights and stuff was a big deal for the left. Social issues have always been a part of the left, it's never just been economics.

Ah, Occupy Wall Street.

If there's any single moment or movement that can be pinpointed as the start of "Current Year" and the SJW leftist zeitgeist of the 2010's, it's Occupy. Not Gamergate, Ferguson, or even Trayvon.

Occupy specifically started as a response to how both the Dems and GOP bailed out a lot of the major Wall Street firms that helped cause the 2008 Recession. It was initially a very organic movement spread through social media, which is why it popped up overnight in nearly every major and mid-sized city.

The Great Recession officially ended around 2010 or so, but the economy was still in the shitter for the average person in most of America from 2010-2012 or so, and Obama was pretty much the same as Bush in terms of his major economic policies and response to the financial crisis of the late 2000's.

The issue of gay rights and other social issues was seen as a separate issue altogether when the Occupy protests began in the fall of 2011.

Part of me always thought the SJW stuff that came out of Occupy was partly the result of heavy astroturfing and infiltration by corporate interest groups to prevent it from getting anything of substance done.

Occupy was decentralized from the start, and a lot of the proto-SJW groups of the late 2000's all sort of coalesced into a mostly coherent movement through Occupy on their own, but I think the influence and power that the SJW Left eventually achieved was entirely due to astroturfing from the media and infiltration from corporations and other outside groups.

The SJW's only got so powerful because the corporations who have the real power kept listening to them. Makes you think, doesn't it?

They watched how rapidly OWS collapsed into complete uselessness as progressive stack degenerates, perverts, drug addicts and other trash got pushed to the top of it regardless of merit, and realized they had a nice batch of useful idiots in these lumpenproletariat garbage.

The heck do you mean by "fall off"? Did people actually take Anonymous seriously outside of uninformed boomer news stories? Anonymous was always shit tier LARPing, only occasionally did it manage to be entertaining.

It was worse than that though, The Government were the ones that demanded Wall Street Firms take on the debt they did. Now Wall Street was happy to do so since the Government agreed to bail them out but it was The Democrats who demanded The Banks lend to poor people despite the fact that poor people couldn't pay because "OH MY GOD BLACKS ARE POOR YOU DON'T WANNA BE RAAAACIIIST DOO YOU?"

Then Occupy happened and the Elites realized that they could make protesting part of The Complex, Just like we now have forever war, and forever debt you could have forever protests so they infiltrated and Occupy from "Poor against Rich" into "White against Black, Gay against Straight, Troons against Terfs."

Lol- in case anyone was still wondering about whether those big 'Anonymous' Twitter accounts are run by intelligence agencies, here is @YourAnonCentral supporting deplatforming gaysian Andy Ngo for.... publishing public information about system-approved rioters.

"anonymous" got infiltrated by larping activist faggots bored with their life looking for purpose, just like everything else on the internet.
It got infiltrated by political activists who didn't share the original philosophy (if there was one), to turn it into some kind of controlled opposition. I think I told that story in another thread about anonymous, one time in France some "anonymous" group attacked and defaced the website of a jewish organization. The next day, a video was uploaded, it showed two 50 year-old effeminate jewish men holding a cheap version of the Guy Fawkes mask, they were saying that anonymous didn't do the attack, that the movement isn't anti-semite, before ending the video with a few words in hebrew.

I like how we had Project Chanology only for something even worse and a hell of a lot more powerful than Scientology to come along in the form of Woke, which makes all that sound and fury over Scientology, as shitty as they are, seem entirely pointless because frankly it's just some little cult with close to zero relevance for the wider world.

It is creepy how in many ways Woke operates like Scientology though, like the whole "suppressive person" and "fair game" thing being similar to cancel culture.

It is nice to wax nostalgic about Project Chanology and the days when the internet seemed like a way to fight for freedom before it was turned into another tool of oppression.

All the more reason for the FBI to put them in the terrorist list soon. lol
