In the world of spirits, there are many brands and individual drinks which are expensive, owing to their branding, in most cases claiming fame and excellence via dedicated craftsmanship, and many of these drinks are indeed excellent. I opened this thread so that we can share our experiences with expensive spirits, perhaps we can help one another find something real good for special occasions, find insights in this area of life, and more! What is your favorite fancy liqour? Why and how? Any interests, insights and experiences around it? And more! Discuss.

For starters, the drink I can mention is this:

My favorite whiskey, and spirit, so far. Its taste has the usual whiskey grit, but it puts a very unique and pleasing, sweet and smooth world of tastes on it. Mostly honey, a mix of many fruits, and basically what I can only describe as the taste equivalent of smelling flowers. If you like whiskey, definitely a good addition to the taste gallery. If you want to try out premium whiskey for the first time, I can recommend this if you think a rough, smoky or otherwise aggressive taste might be off-putting for you.

I don't know much about quality of alcohol, but I prefer gin. If I can find it, I like this stuff. It's floral, heavy on the juniper. Really nice for gimlets, negronis, or other simple gin drinks that allow the botanicals to come through. The jackalope on the bottle is cute too so I'll pay 40 dollars for it

Not a fancy spirit but fancy liquor knowledge in nature: champagne is only champagne if it's from Champagne, France. Everything else is a sparkling wine of some sort.

Sometimes I sip 40-70 dollar aged rum while I watch Chinese cartoons. I like the 15 year El Dorado rum, tastes pretty damn good, not too liquory, and not too thin or sweet like some other rums.

Listen I know this and can sperg about it but it's easier and less pedantic in most situations to say champagne rather than sparkling wine. I'm drinking cremant de limoux right now but I'm not about to explain the difference between champagne and cremant de limoux to someone who really doesn't fucking care and just wants some nice bubbly wine.

Are Yellowstone or Wild Turkey Rare Breed fancy? That's the fanciest alcohol I drink. Interested in trying brandy.
