Diseased The Fidget Spinner Community - "It's Not A Trend, It's A Way Of Life."

Hmm. Am I right in assuming that the secondary bearing races on the trilobe designs are pretty much defunct, then?
Those have just been there because they are a simple, cheap way to add weight to the outside of the spinner so it spins longer. If you're going to machine something from metal there's really no reason for them, however the farther away from the center you have more weight, the longer the spin will be in theory.

Lots of makers have made square or rectangular spinners that work great. There are ones that are literally just a nut around a bearing. As long as you can make an interesting shape and drill a hole for a bearing in it, it will spin and people will probably buy it.

You really are a titanic autist.

That said, after having spent a few minutes in CAD, I'm not all that convinced that I'm not.

This version would more accurately represent the generally ill-coordinated flailing one would expect from such a talisman of autism.

Either way, this trend is spectacularly stupid and you should feel bad for being a devotee.

That is really, really awesome actually. If you're willing to share the file once completed I could print out a prototype.

Strap in, time for some drop tests on dumb plastic:

I love how fucking blurry and out of focus the actual drop is.

Also that first one is apparently made of fucking porcelain to have shattered that hard at such an obviously small height
This kid probably makes more money than I do by filming dumb shit like this.

That's depressing.

I got a bit curious, so I decided to fire up a VM and click on a few of those clearly malicious links you see in every fidget spinner video to see where they lead:

Well, let's try one of the other offerings...

Welp, looks like they want me to play games now instead!

That's a bit odd. That one particular Chrome tab is using quite a bit of RAM...

Even though most of the sites have been rightfully cut down from the Internet, imagine the several poor souls, mostly children, who must've clicked these links.
Please tell me you played those Shrek games and got the super rare limited edition Shrek fidget spinner.
super rare shrek spinner totally not made in paint.png

I dunno about you guys; this is probably legit. The domain looks pretty legit to me.

These new gtlds are fucking terrible, ICANN should be ashamed. The only plus side is now you can spot a scammy site just from the tld alone. .website, .download, .link, .click, .cheap, abandon all hope ye who enter these urls.

edit: I had also never considered how many little kids will reach maturity in the next decade and discover years of identity theft, when they can't even open a basic checking account with their radioactive SSNs.

I dunno, dude. I am okay with .website (It brought us shit like nicememe.website and evenbettermotherfucking.website ) but you're right about all the other GTLDs

Did you know that more than half of all .click domains contain malware according to ICANN statistics?
