Diseased The Fidget Spinner Community - "It's Not A Trend, It's A Way Of Life."

damnit, we need a fatality for this dumb fad to end. i've heard of kids breaking their teeth with spinners, this one tried to spin it in her esophagus, now i want to see a report of someone getting it stuck in their ass.

This fad will slowly fade away over the summer. Summer means no school and lots more fun stuff to do with the better weather. No school means nowhere for these kids to show off spinners or be influenced to get one. I mean how fun is this shit if you can't do it in class instead of paying attention? None at all.

If adults keep this going, and they probably will, they will be confined to the most exceptional places on the internet. Like BJD collectors.

I actually saw a kiddo with one of these recently while out and about. He was playing with it, but he was also messing around with rocks and grass in addition to the spinner. So much for it keeping the tism under wraps.

I also saw a convo on Twitter the other week in which a teacher was complaining about their students bringing these toys to class, which was met with admonishment. They needs them spinny toys, guys!

I haven't seen these in person yet. I didn't even know about it till last week when someone tweeted at Treyarch suggesting they make a spinner toy shaped like their logo. Treyarch bluntly said no. I had no idea what spinners were, all I thought was "what the hell is this Beyblade shit?"

I'm so God damn old that I don't even know beyblades are. Although, when I was a kid, we had it a thousand times more autistic and everyone I grew up with had Puka Shells and mullets.

Beyblades were/are a line of "battle tops". Basically a bunch of wonky-looking plastic tops you spun to knock the other dude's top away. Even had an anime tie-in. Like most collectibles games linked to anime they were strictly the purview of young children and re.tards.

But at least they actually had some playability to them. These fidget spinners are basically just overpriced stimming toys for people who either don't need them or have issues way deeper than just fidgety habits.

When I was a kiddo (might 3have been a regional trend, I dunno) it was two gummy balls on a string, which were even more pointless because you couldn't even do tricks with them.

They got banned because some dumbass got them wrapped around their neck. So I can't be too down on fidget spinners, we were just as autistic in 2003-ish and only difference is that we didn't have as much access to the internet to spread it around or show off about out fancy £100 gummy balls.

A fidget spinner is a toy designed to relieve stress or anxiety. A few prongs surround a circular pad, which is held while the toy spins around. There's nothing remarkable about them, unless you make the mistake of venturing into the subreddit dedicated to them:

It is an overflowing volcano of Autism.

Jesus, we need to let teachers start hitting kids again

I don't get it. It just spins? Like you put it down and spin it or something?
You hold them in the center with one hand and you spin it with the other. That's all it is, and some people are paying big money for this gimmicky toy that you can find for under $5 on Aliexpress.

Yeah, but these gas stations ones will spin for 30 seconds while a high end one can spin for over 5 minutes. There are also ones made out of titanium and other precious metals, ones with tritium inserts etc.
