The Final Fantasy Thread

Well when you put it that way, it makes perfect sense now does it? I swear, they have turned her into a plot device for these games, and I disgusts me to no end.
It definitely isn’t for everyone. The remake project isn’t bad, it’s just very clearly made for people that are fans of the entire anthology and not a lot of the people who played the original and had no interest in the side stuff

Apology/overcorrection for how badly she was let to fall off outside of the first game?

That said I do think they could make it all stick in a non-plot-devicey way. As a character who is set up to have a big destiny then has their future taken away you can wring a lot of pathos out of how she’s able to influence others as a substitute for living her own life. Sort of like how the legacy of her death has made her a plot device in the audience’s eyes because it’s all she’s remembered for and how it’s a rationale for not investing in her character. But the natural payoff for that is reviving her and that will piss people off.

And I think it will take a backseat to having the swordbros fight it out for the final statement on the mini-franchise anyway.

Understandable why people might be confused, given the titles.

It sort of does. It becomes about settings for OC donut steels rather than the Magic Universe being central.
You don't know how bad it's gotten everyone can now travel between planes not just Planeswalkers. Also half of all standard sets will now be universes beyond, this year it's Final Fantasy, Spider-Man, and rumored to be Avatar the Last Air Bender.

For most people, this is their real taste of Final Fantasy. That’s the vibe I get after talking to players. The shift toward this so-called "Ubisoft style" reenforces this idea.

The fans shoots down criticism with "no one hates final fantasy more than final fantasy fans LOL" which, frankly, is exactly what you'd expect from a community like this. This is their last-ditch effort to stay relevant, so no one wants to upset the apple cart.

A few radio towers is hardly a full shift to Ubisoft style. The games are also worlds better than the new additions like 15/16. Hysterical for people to treat this like a “last ditch effort” when it’s selling well and being generally well received. Is it a controversial departure from form or an attempt to not upset the cart? At least get your shit flinging consistent before throwing it

The towers fucking sucked but the rest of the open world content was great.

Well, except the protorelics. Those minigames were annoying to do.

Yea I mean dont get me wrong some of the side stuff did feel a little like a chore, especially for parts that threw in mini games since it was a mixed bag in terms of sometimes you just aren’t in the mood to learn and play another one. I’m doing a playthrough after 100% and just focusing on the story does seem to be the ideal setup to me. I still enjoyed all the extra but the strongest parts of rebirth are the combat and seeing the original story with so much care put into the world. The new story bits are solid too but probably the biggest point of contention other than the mini games

I forgot that Verissimus is a huge faggot with nothing to really say. But, alas, the mistake was mine.
Any good nude mod.
No but the censorship discourse is back. A high quality OG Clothes Tifa mod is available and (I think) one of its features is seeing her panties. The Gooning Grifters praised it as a rebuke of Square’s “censorship” of the character and people replied by saying panty shots were never an OG feature so how can the new design be censorship in the first place.

I’d say they’re right because you see more of her tits in these Remakes than was ever even implied in the OG with its pipecleaner models.

Any good nude mod.
Do you really need to ask that question?

Whether or not they're good is up for debate since I stay away from these mods on general principles of not being a coom-brained loser, but I'm sure you can find at least one that satisfies whatever needs you have.

I know some people might get upset but seeing Cloud start losing it more and more thanks to both Sephiroth and his own disjointed memories is an excellent addition to the overall game and really emphasizes that its a race against time for everyone. I am pissed as hell though that we got the OG's end bosses as the end bosses in Rebirth but in a worse version, ruining the catharsis of the final fight between Cloud and Sephiroth from the OG where you just Omnislash his faggy ass with Ultima Weapon for 9999 every single swipe and end it in one attack.

The Junon Parade minigame was fucking awesome though, and way, way better than the original. Yes, its just a repeat of the Honeybee Inn dance sequence from Remake, but fuck it, I liked that too.

Oh, and before I forget... Jesus Fucking Christ where the hell did Rufus Shrina learn how to fight? He's one of the toughest bosses out there since he's fast as hell and has a nice mix of ranged and melee attacks.

Karma exists. Rebirth selling under 2.5 million shows that. Hell ff16 flopping shows that. The end of remake killed any goodwill gamers were wiling to give 7R. And criticism will have you called not a real fan of ff7. Fkn nomura could run gta, Cod and madden into the ground.

Finally finished Rebirth and it was definitely a better game than the first, generally just less frustrating to play and obnoxious story wise. Still a lot of padding on the story beats that were unnecessary and it was mostly just adding "but X happened and so Y happens" conditionals between what happens in the original story. I ran out of patience by the end so I'm not going to do the rest of the sidequests and extras. Clocked nearly 100 hours and was thinking for the next one between the original story stuff and the OC donut steal story its probably going to be another long one.

It amused me to no end as a kid that you could just use Mug on him and end it.

Have you actually played the original game yet?

It's done well on Steam.

Everybody keeps arguing this, but Rebirth and 16 predominantly flopped initially because they were PS5 exclusives.

Now I wait for someone to post autistic sales charts from a third party source to show that "SEE? IT'S NOT MAKING A HUGE FORTUNE AFTER THE PC RELEASES EITHER LIKE THESE OTHER TITLES THAT HAD IMMEDIATE PC LAUNCHES, SO THEY'RE TOTAL FAILURES!"

Only game of the year nominee that flopped
