The Final Fantasy Thread

X - All around a very colourful and interesting entry that, at the risk of sounding like a game journo, has a little bit of everything that makes FF, FF.
There's no overworld, no ATB.

It might actually be my favorite Kitase 'joint' for those reasons. It's so damn easy to pick up and play, plus the game is gorgeous. Makes the time fly by.

Go with FF7 before FFX. X has some… culture shock moments in its story and presentation.

What do you mean by that?

I'd recommend 10 as the first game due to being overall basic and easy to get into, followed by 6 and 7. 7 just looks godaweful unless you play one some mod, while 6's pixel art makes it timeless.

is there any possible hope that part 2 will get a teaser during this presentation? Or will it all be crisis core, the mobile game and all that shit?

Maybe, it's been over two years since part 1 and Square should be using Unreal Engine 5 at best (assuming compatibility is possible for assets and gameplay systems created in part 1). Their main focus is probably XVI right now, but a teaser trailer or even confirmation that part 2's coming isn't that much of a stretch.

You will like the paper-mache pipe-cleaner look!

And 7 looks great! Except the player models. Which at least have personality!

7 is just easy, briskly placed, and doesnt have voice acting

Square Enix would have to be the single-most tone deaf retards to make a 25th Anniversary celebration presentation and not have a trailer for Part 2.

But because they have a history of being tone deaf retards I can't tell you with any degree of confidence that we will get an NFT announcement instead.

I'm sure I'll buy Crisis Core again because I'm a sucker with too much disposable income, but I remember it being really repetitive with it's mission based gameplay. Genesis was also really bad. Typical deep edgelord nonsense from the time period.
Basically the main criticisms of the games summed up. There are 300 sidequest missions to do (only a handful are innovative or fun), and Genesis is a cringe factory. But the backstory stuff for Sephiroth was nice, and the final scenes of the game are fucking solid gold.
