Local game store had a famicom copy of Final Fantasy 2 and 3 for like 3 bucks each.

I now feel obligated to find and pick up a copy of 1 for the famicom just to have the whole set. I mean I have the NES version, the NES Mini with Final Fantasy 1, and Final Fantasy Origins for the PS1, but it's not a small white cart.
And don’t forget about the inevitable release that will come out next year for the franchise’s 35th anniversary

Final Fantasy 1 is one of those games I have trouble going back to. It was cool a couple decades ago. And I guess it is still cool. But it's a very antiquated game. I was replaying it on the NES about... fuck me ten years ago? Time flies. And it was fine. But whenever magic missile would attack the darkness I wanted to hurl a bowling ball into my television set. Rage upon rage.

Frame them, put them on a mantle. Watch the panties drop.

The remakes replaced spell charges with MP.

I am skeptical of remakes, but the original is unfinished. INT does nothing, Thief can't run from battles, and I'm probably forgetting a few other things.

Oh I have no problem with spell charges. I actually like that sort of magic system.

What I do not like is combat programming that neglects to redirect an attack/spell when the chosen target dies and there are still enemies on the field.

I don't really have a lot of faith in what Square does anymore. The past several years have been nothing but disappointments and failures in my opinion. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel compelled to play Final Tales of Beseria Fantasy.

The addition of time travel all but confirms they’ll screw it up.

I dunno, Intergrade doesn't seem to deviate that much. It seems the alterations are entirely intended for stuff like Crisis Core's continuity and Dirge of Cerberus, it's just they decided to introduce them all in the first act.

We're basically getting the whole story of everything FF7 related.

Most of those additions are bad however and it’s hard for a story to maintain its pace and focus if it has to include everything imo.

but really time travel is just devilishly hard to do right. And the serious tone makes it hard to excuse it as simple “fantasy fiat”

12 made me feel guilty. Plenty of "Marks" are just minding their own business, and common mobs (i.e. wolves) have buttholes on their models. I wound up avoiding combat because the enemies felt too real.

Somebody on the Farms likened it to a bunch of royals on safari.
Yes but I love side content. I am a promiscuous woman (male) for side content.

Has there been any more news about Final Fantasy XVI? It's been a while since I last heard about it.

Oh, the entire game is a mess. All of the Instant Death spells won't work for you, magic isn't scaled on Int or Wis, the success of running is determined by your place in the party order, and all of the special effects of weapons are turned off, among other things.

I haven't either. Let's check Wikipedia and find out.

Start them up and tell us what the names are in the saves

The classes are unbalanced, too. Fighter just crushes everything, then you have Black Wizard who can't target weaknessea and has a worse selection of weapons than White Mage.
