Is there any word on FF7R Intergrade heading to ps4?
Nope. AFAIK it was “optimized for the PS5”, along with the rest of the remake, so the chance of it getting ported to the PS4 or other platforms is unfortunately slim to none. Tbch I don’t understand how the difference can be that drastic but it’s the excuse they’re going with anyway.

The rest of the remake? I thought the main game was still heading for ps4?

No, they only made part 1 playable. Everything else is going to be exclusive to the PS5. If you have both consoles you can transfer your data but tons of people don’t so it’s pretty stupid.

Part of me doesn't want to think Square-enix is dumb enough to actually fuck over the fans who can't or won't get a ps5, but then I remember it's SE.

I hope they reverse this decision, because a lot of older fans are done with their shit and making part 1 essentially a glorified (but nice) demo would be the final nail in that fanbase's coffin.

The next installment of the remake probably won’t come out until 2023 at the earliest. Do you really think Square-Enix will still be developing AAA titles for a console that will be ten years old by then? And the PS5 will most likely have a price drop by that time and be more readily available.

Hey guys remember when FF13 was to be a PS3 exclusive?
Remember how we got two more games and by the third they threw out everything established in the first two because it was fucking ass?

If there's one thing I can't fault the 7 Remake for being is that it's fun to 100%, none of the 13 games are like that at all. They are fucking torture with retarded objectives(you can't sell any items for the whole game)

This is why I find talk of Lightning's "progression" so offensive. 13 and 13-2 are not only the worst games in the trilogy, but two of the worst games in the franchise as a whole. Nobody in 13 has "development"; only varying levels of how badly they need be punched in the face.

If anyone tries to sell on the idea of "foreshadowing", don't listen. Nobody in 13 has "development"; only varying levels of how badly they need be punched in the face.
Some of the areas in 13 had generally good art direction, but level design was a hallway and the battle system was tedious. 13-2 tried to fix the battle system but didn't finish the job and the levels to that were not good either. The Time Mechanic had potential but nothing you did lead to anything interesting and by the end the game also set into tedium. Lightning Returns was probably the only game that got the stuff mostly right, and if it was the actual Final Fantasy 13 it would have been looked upon a lot more fondly.

Everything in 13 and 13-2 including the bullshit secret ending had zero payoff in Lightning Returns. You really could have just made LR it's own thing.

I can hope but I know they won't. Still pisses me off though.

You can probably buy the PS5 steelbook separate for the game if you want ALL THE THINGS for a shelf. There's only the regular PS5 edition and that's it, the intergrade DLC is on a voucher.

They gave the PS5 digital upgrade free to owners of the PS4 version remember. That's a big indicator that everything going forward is on the PS5.

Perhaps I'm just too stubborn, but I don't want a ps5. I'm happy with what I got. The 4 is a perfectly serviceable system. It just seems so stupid to me the release the first instalment on the ps4 then move everything to the next console. It's a giant bait and switch and it just makes me want to finally be done with SE.

The PS3 still got games like Persona 5 three years into the PS4's lifecycle, PS4 looks like it's going to continue that tradition and get a good amount of releases.

However there's also the fact that the PS5 can play all your PS4 games. So you're not just tossing the software aside.

I know they've continued developing games for older consoles when the newer ones have come out, but like I said, it just seems like a giant bait and switch. Something that really shouldn't be done by a company. I got other reasons for disliking it, but they're personal and autistic.

To me, I just don't see a real difference between the 4 and 5. As for being backwards compatible, that's a nice feature, but not a deal maker to me.

I dunno, I just don't like how things are being handled by SE.

I don’t see how you can call this a bait and switch. Developers make sequels on upgraded hardware generations all the time. When the first installment came out in 2020, everyone knew that the PS5 was expected to come out that year. Out of all the dumb stuff Square-Enix has done, I don’t see why one would get hung up on something that ANY developer would do.

A sequel, yes. Part 2 of a game that originally had all it's parts on the same console, nah. Why even release it at all for the previous console then? Just seems kind of shitty to me. "Hey, you want more of this? Buy a whole new console if you want to play the rest of the game."

Edit: Yeah, I know I'm being salty about this. It just bugs me and I wanted to get it off my chest.

How many more installments do you expect to be in the remake and how long do you think it will be before it’s done?

How about Xbox? The exclusivity period was supposed to end in April, before Sony extended that to December...

Really, I just want to know if it's ever coming or not, being kept in the dark sucks ass.
