This here is my 1000th post on KiwiFarms!
While I was lurking the farms for a few years before officially joining, it's funny to think the thing that pushed me to actually making an account was when I found the thread for, and subsequently found out, that
Ukinojoe who I had followed loosely since his very first cartoon on Newgrounds had become a bitter, angry TDS-suffering loser who was extremely jealous of every one of his fellow Newgrounds alumni who had managed to find their own success while badmouthing pretty much every one of them including those who he had friendly collaborations with in the past despite his (at the time) forward facing persona making him seem like a friendly positive guy. I wonder how many other kiwis joined because it turned out someone they liked turned out to be an asshole and needed an outlet to shitpost about it.
While I feel like I tend to use the Farms more for general interest topics because I enjoy the censorship-free discussion where people can be edgy, direct and honest it really got me back into lolcows more than I expected. In the mid-to-late 00's I was an Encyclopedia Dramatica frequenter so I followed Chris-chan pretty close then I kind of fell out of it as the internet expanded. Really, this is mainly Ralph's claim to fame - that first years of being a member was just nothing but Ralph doing something so incredibly stupid every single week that brought me back to the days of checking ED daily to see if there where Chris updates. The Ralphamale (like Christ) is truly king - at least when it comes to getting people to root against him.
Experiencing the plight of the Farms first hand in recent years has also really hardened my views about freedom of speech and internet rights. The absolute nonsense Josh has to go through to keep his legal website up against actual criminal freakazoids who inexplicably have the backing of every government agency, corporation and wealthy backer is an extreme blackpill on the state of civil liberties as a whole and one that is just far too easy to brush off as a normie without seeing it happen as it's such a background thing for the 90% of the internet who only uses the 4 or 5 big websites. It sounds gay as shit, but I honestly think Josh is probably one of the literal most important people in the world for freedom as a whole just as a byproduct of the new frontiers he is having to wonder to defend KiwiFarms.
In general it's been an extremely positive experience being on KiwiFarms. Even the occasional person being unnecessarily combative and insulting to an excess for no real reason is kind of nice in it's own right just because of how sanitized things are elsewhere. The amount of times I've gone to a thread with a very specific opinion or reference and in only a few posts somebody has already independently stated my sentiment is extremely cathartic these days when the majority of the Internet is so railroaded into specific viewpoints. I don't see a circumstance I ever stop using KiwiFarms in the future save for a total collapse of human rights where the trannies succeed in bringing it down, but luckily that possibility seems to be fading away and it seems things are actually headed the other direction (fingers crossed).
In other site related miscellanea it's super annoying to my autism that I am a microscopic amount away from a 7:1 ratio of 7000 reaction score to 1000 posts, but worrying about stickers is one of those things you want to avoid. Still, the round numbers would have been nice!
Well, here's to another 1000 in the future!
