The General Thread

I am starting my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate. I've been looking for some fantasy stuff to sink time into. I love top down, dnd-esque games and I can't believe I've never tried this series before, and I've always loved Forgotten Realms.

Arcanum has always been one of my most favorite games of all time, this feels just like a polished version of that.

edit; also posting less on Kiwifarms has been great for my brain. I never typically go full MATI but for some reason I've just been extremely angry and annoyed at everything these past couple of months, not just cows but posters too. I only condense my reading to the Chris Chan section nowadays while logged out completely.

Oi gun/legal spergs I've got a question, if I need to transport a gun on a bicycle is it considered concealed carry if it's in a locked case on my cargo rack?

Pro tip for today: If you forgot to wear green and you go out in public and someone tries to pinch you, just tell them your crotch fungus is green and they can check if they want to verify.

@The tired cat what problem do you have with people mentioning Soviet war crimes or saying that killing Romanov children wasn't justified? We've seen you sperg about how Stalin dindu nuffin before and I'd honestly love to see you actually debate people instead of throwing stickers and running away.
 
Pretty sure I just bombed discrete math. This quarter was a mess. Already work was busy, then tried to do a coworker a solid and give him a lift when his car broke and didn't have any good alternate. Badly underestimated how that would affect my energy and focus. Then when that situation ended and it seemed like I was in a place I could recover, my 18 year/265k mile car gave up and I find myself in the whirlwind of new car buying. Ended up with a Mazda3 hatchback and don't get me wrong, I'm fucking loving it. But yeah, it's just been one big, long academic tailspin fml

My sister seems to have woken up this morning and spontaneously decided we're to start a web design business together and I feel like she needs to manage her expectations a bit. I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about web design but she's come up with this dumb plan where we both do some online bootcamp thing where she does the UX/UI and I do the actual website coding then we go into business together. She has a raging case of protagonist syndrome and doesn't seem to have considered a scenario in which I'm NOT the Steve Wozniak to her Steve Jobs. She seems to have inextricably linked the notion of me going back to school and going into business with her in her mind, so even if I think doing online school is a good idea, if I tell her that she's gonna think that means I want to start a business with her, and outright has said she expects me to do that alongside whatever school bullshit I hypothetically end up doing. And she's all like "if you agree to this you can't change your mind because I only wanna do half of the web design stuff so if you back out you'll leave me up shit creek" and I'm like bruh...THIS IS VERY CLEARLY A TERRIBLE IDEA

My mom thinks its a great idea because "lots of people are starting businesses lately!" and also our dad used to work in IT. Of course the elephant in the room is that if everyone is starting businesses then we're extremely unlikely to be the only freelance web designers on the block but my sister won't hear any of that because she * ~has dreams~ * I guess. Anyway she's inevitably gonna come in here at some point to see my opinions on the incredibly in depth research she's done of....listing what web designers do in bullet points and I'm really not looking forward to trying to get her to see reason.

edit: she's now stormed off upstairs and is crying because I told her this was a terrible idea and therefore crushed her dreams....oops

edit 2: I apologised in the form of a self-deprecating neocities website and it appears to have worked.
