How many times do I have to fucking say it? The movie didn't fail because of "misogynistic Trump supporters". It failed because of its basic comic philosophy. It's a film crammed with toilet jokes, cheap gags, pop culture references, a complete disregard for narrative or characterization, jokes that were never funny to begin with being dragged out far longer than they should be, and, yes, active objectification of its own (Chris Hemsworth's character). Sometimes, movies are bad. And sometimes bad movies fail.

All this proves is that Variety is desperate for a story to shit out that's vaguely politics themed, and Paul is still angry he murdered his own career all these years later and will refuse to take the L.
If he spent as much time as he did seething about and helping to pioneer blaming the consumer method that's currently burning down entertainment, he could've probably actually have made a better movie. He put more effort crying about this than he did actually tightening the script and making the adlibs not suck.
