The global version of Steam has been blocked in China - A Christmas gift from Xi

PUBG might finally be playable
It's a sweet cherry on the top as well that Playerunknown has been alienating his founding playerbase by defending chinks saying sinophobia, calling them rayyycists when they been asking for region block on China because it was 95%< of cheaters that were from China, apparently due to ghetto cafes "having preinstalled hacks". Even before that game felt dead enough that they had to work on bots and release it as F2P.

Good fucking riddance, no more getting shot by longwang95 across the entire map with a fucking pistol or lagging so bad that a response to a bullet is a mere suggestion.

Iirc it wasn't enforced. They had a special client for years but didn't do anything
The regional client only had a little over 60 games IIRC.

China is going to pull more shit in the future, the real kicker is going to be when they decide to call those Tencent dealings home to roost. Companies that made deals with tencent will be in for a bad time because the logic is the CCP can force international companies apply China's standards. So if China wants a backdoor installed on every piece of hardware or software so the CCP can look at North American's personal info, they think a company will kneel to them because they rely on China to a large extent due to tencent's parasitic control.

Venezuela tried a similar thing with banks, oil, and investment firms. They thought they were too valuable to ever be crossed.

Yeah, they're censoring anti-CCP speech, banning people for saying "Free Hong Kong" etc, same shit every other American gaming company does.
Now, China is showing them the middle finger, serves them right.

Really? I feel like I've said a ton of shit that falls under that category.

Either way, hopefully that marks the end of that bit of lunacy. How many companies are actually able to do meaningful business in China at this point? I find it wild that China can't understand the foundations it built it's current-day success on.

Could be a silver lining in this. Maybe there will be less AAA games that are designed from the ground up to suck China's cock with censorship and all that shit.
That's mostly going to be shooters and the like as well as anything that has significant gambling mechanics, and lootboxes already have some form of limited legislation against them. And even then, that's extremely doubtful because right next door is India who have just as bad a taste in games as the chinese.

It could go in the other wrong way, as in pandering even harder to the Woke crowd, and forcing down even more Black Transgender Muslim Non-Binary "insert 700+ genders here" Disabled BLM Antifa ACAB characters down people's throats, or even worse, changing even more existing characters to such.

I think that China's current way of doing things is a direct response to what's happening in the US.
They see a lot of foreign influence and the destruction of American culture and identity and, to avoid that, they're pushing away foreign influence and trying to preserve their own culture and identity.
I don't blame them, to be honest.
Their tactics are a bit extreme but they're really thinking long term about this.
We'll see in a decade or 2 how that's working out for them.

You realize that China has always done that prior to a collapse? Like holy fuck these retards have learned nothing over the past few centuries and always shoot themselves in the foot.

There's zero checks and balances to Xi, he has more power than any of their emperors ever had and he's fucking shit up worse than they did. He doesn't even have a Gang of Four to take the blame after his fuck ups cause greater famine.

I hear a special session of congress has been called right now to pass the Gamer Oppression Prevention Act.

Well then, if he fucks up like you're saying he will, he will be the scapegoat that will be crucified to appease the angry masses.

Whatever meaningful culture they had got destroyed when communism took over. It's all just weird food and fear of the government at this point.

The whole thing about them planning across decades isn't really true. The Japanese were the long-term strategists, the military would literally create 100 year strategies. Turns out none of that matters when you nuke them into submission, though. The Chinese did it to an extent, but people massively overestimated it and it's not really true anymore.

This pattern of banning Western companies, arbitrary video game curfews, etc - it's all a desperate attempt to retain the control they've had since their great "Cultural Revolution" (ie. Cultural Destruction).

Anyway, whatever. Those pesky little chinks are wildly irritating.

He's already fucked up a ton - there just isn't sanctioned criticism allowed. There won't be till he dies and shit really hits the fan.

This is the CCP doing everything in their power to force Chinese men to log off and have sex.
They have swaths of villages filled with nothing but men who have sex with each other due to there being no women, so getting men off the internet to have sex was not a problem that needed fixing.

What they're not telling you is that most chinese men willingly take jobs in Africa just because women are available and they're also more free from their government due to proximity. So African/Chinese interracially mixing are becoming a significant demographic. It undermines their whole Han superiority thing which is why those deathcamps even exist in the first place.

That's informative, but how else do you explain China shutting down everything except venues where you go to get laid?
