Simple fact is, no Godzilla film has ever been or will ever be as racist as King Kong '33. Cope with that truth however you like.

Hey I don't want read this whole thread so I'll just ask - everyone agrees that the Godzilla anime movies aren't exactly good Godzilla movies but they are mind blowing genius right? Good, I'm glad you all have excellent taste.

i liked the first two a lot tbh

the third one was a big disappointment

The second one is the best imo, and yeah the third shits the bed hard, but I do like the concept of ghidorah, if not it's execution - how do you overpower the ultimate physical existence? Metaphysically of course! And series wise I like how the alien's religion is very obviously a satire of Christianity, but without being the typical anime/fedora atheist style moustache twirling "evil cult".
 
Yeah, you can see traces of what Gen Urobuchi would’ve done had he been given more creative control over writing the anime movies through scenes and several of the concepts.

Shame he suffered severe meddling from the director and producer.

Was it Gen or the main director who's on recorded saying he's never watched/liked Godzilla movies? Because that alone explains everything.

Godzilla manga do exist. They really should bring them over. Many of them are just adaptations of the movies, but I would rather read that than IDW.

That was Shizuno iirc, the cunt. But to be fair, Toho seems obsessed with doing retarded shit to their kaiju in anime, like banning monster fights in the trilogy and cgi Godzilla in that lunatic series and bringing Shizuno back for Gamera
