Adam Wingard appears to be a cool enough dude, and I liked his MonsterVerse movies quite a bit ...Looks like the next monsterverse film is going to have a new director.

Hopefully it means that Junkie XL won't be back as well.
This forum has a disproportionate amount of people who were born miserable cunts and those same people will die miserable cunts.
Not worth the energy.

Same!King of The Monsters is the most panned movie of the MonsterVerse, but it's my favorite one!
How come ultraman's able to keep going on with the costume actors and not Godzilla? Seriously how hard is it for these lazy fucks just to design a basic kaiju suit. Bring on some of the old designers and engineers and show the Next generation how to keep it going on. Nothing beats seeing a prop City get blown up by pyrotechnics more so than a bunch of ones and zeros trying to be over the top. This forum has a disproportionate amount of people who were born miserable cunts and those same people will die miserable cunts.

TV shows tend to have less budget than movies. Ultraman, along with Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are also serialized Tokusatu series. Godzilla kept the rubber suits up until Shin (which did have an animitronic) out of tradition. Also you can't tell me that the 1s and 0s of Monsterverse Goji, and Minus One Goji didn't convey emotion despite being 1s and 0s.How come ultraman's able to keep going on with the costume actors and not Godzilla? Yes, but even if the latter animated series was a followup of the TriStar movie, it was still Fox Kids kino. It even had Nick Jameson (who played the Russian president from 24), Joe Pantoliano (Ralphie from the Sopranos), Linda Blair and Ron PerlmanOne of them is a kid series the other one is a spin-off to the awful 98 film.
What about an animatronic Kong? It worked in the 1976 remakeWell I for one want more Kong
also no more fancy high-tech rubber suits: go back to stop motion
The animated series was ironically exponentially better than the awful 98 film. One of them is a kid series the other one is a spin-off to the awful 98 film.
Lol holy shit they actually did the bleeder hahaha.
I get as to why the 98 TriStar movie was hated upon, but I personally liked it as a separate movie of its own. It's not Godzilla and it never will be, but having that said, it's still a fun, enjoyable monster movie as a thing of its own. Even the director of Shin Godzilla would agree on this notion that it's "not Godzilla, but still dumb entertainment."The animated series was ironically exponentially better than the awful 98 film.
He should remake it as Shin ZillaI get as to why the 98 TriStar movie was hated upon, but I personally liked it as a separate movie of its own. I would disagree that it’s a thing of its own. It’s an unabashed Jurassic Park ripoff, but it is the best of that category (and the Jurassic Park -> ‘98 ‘Zilla-> Actual Godzilla movies pipeline is exactly what happened to me when I was six).it's still a fun, enjoyable monster movie as a thing of its own.
Yes, it is an obvious Jurassic Park ripoff and it's not even hiding it either. I mean for christ's sake, The Lost World came out a year prior and it's has a premise very similar to what TriStar Zilla would be a full year later. Even then, it still embraces the goofiness director Roland Emmerich used in this movie the same way he did in Independence Day.I would disagree that it’s a thing of its own. Sadly that is how Godzilla got the green light in the 90s, TriStar wanted to capitalize on the success of Jurassic Park and was hoping Godzilla would be that, instead of being it's own thing. Hollywood as always. And to think they were going to do a similar thing a decade later, wanting to capitalize on Michael Bay's Transformers with Evangelion, which never happened thankfully due to some issues with ADV and Gainax.Yes, it is an obvious Jurassic Park ripoff and it's not even hiding it either. Having that said, the animated series based on said movie was still way better, and Zilla's appearance in Final Wars were he gets his ass handed by OG Godzilla is still based
Live Action Western adaptations of anime almost universally operate on the Speed Racer timeline.wanting to capitalize on Michael Bay's Transformers with Evangelion, which never happened thankfully due to some issues with ADV and Gainax.
iirc the trick is they have to pay per monster per movie, the deal with Toho isn't like a buffetIf the Monsterverse series direction is smart, they would do 2 spin off movies after the next G&K film that reintroduces Rodan. Maybe a plot that involves another one of his species, perhaps a female Rodan that is captured by a splinter group of Monarch and the movie could focus on the two reuniting? It would bring him back into the eyes of Monsterverse fans. Another film could explore the IWI tribe, and Mothra some more. Could introduce Battra in the film too. Of course have Godzilla and Kong cameos where applicable. It would be a nice parallel to their Showa era solo movies.
