The reality is that, like most of his kind, he was a severely mentally ill man with a socially isolating hobby/job, no life achievements that society, baring a few basement dwellers and nerds, cares about, had no money, no real relationships, was a deviant, and hated himself. Instead of trying to fix his life he wanted a scapegoat to blame for his problems. He’d have killed himself no matter what, but it’s easy to reduce a slew of severe mental issues to a booooleeeein problem caused by a tiny thread on a niche forum.

People often think society hates them when it’s they themselves who do.
