I haven't used BSNES/Higan in years (mainly because I rather play on real hardware), and I don't really have a dog in this fight, but... yeah, it kind of was one of the greatest emulators ever. It dethroned ZSNES, was a fierce competitor of SNES9X for a good while even when it seemed like that was what everyone used, it was accurate as fuck, and later introduced features that still haven't been replicated in other emulators like HD Mode 7 (pic related). You don't have to be an emulation junky or LGBT shill to know it was a big fucking deal.

This whole thing is ridiculous. The guy who wrote the big shame piece didn’t even know his real name. The reality of the situation is that while kiwi farms on a very small level didn’t help, it definitely isn’t the cause of this. He admitted to acting irrational in the emails, he knew he couldn’t explain why it bothered him so much, he even went into the randy stair levels of oh the site doxxed another guy but we weren’t friends but it still bothered me deeply! He was even struggling to explain what exactly the issue was. His actual one friend even blamed him for getting doxxed and stopped talking to him and that was the one he hung his hat on that kiwi farms went after two people, one of which he wasn’t even close to. Wow.

He was stuck in a spiral and was latching onto any kind of negative thing he can think of. If it wasn’t this it would be something else. This isn’t a story about a site going after someone, it’s just about a guy who had no one to talk to when he needed them the most, where his last call is to a “friend” who didn’t even know his name and spent more time hating on kiwi farms then actually mourning his friend. That he became so obsessed with his username and his online reputation that it became his whole life and because of that he couldn’t connect to anyone in a real way.

Ironically, thanks to his stupid “friend” who made that post, he will forever be linked to this site. Also, whether we find out it’s real or not, he’s just being used by a bunch of people who knew nothing about him now for their own gain.
