I like how they need to mention it was a game dev, like their life matters more than someone that didn't make a bing bing wahoo emulatorIt was a calm Sunday morning when creative genius Byuu, the legendary mind behind a fan translation of Bahamut Lagoon, took their life in a disturbing act of defiance against the bullying they had been receiving. This precious soul was backed into a corner, and their only option was for one to send themselves off this mortal coil. Let this be a lesson to all about the effects of internet bullying.
As this horrible news started to make the rounds, and the wailing subsided, Twitter came together, to spring into action. Mass-reporting. Petitioning companies. Posting their bravery, which was filtered through their pain into calls of violence, as is natural for the good people of the thinking world when responding to such parasitic evil.
The hashtag CancelKiwiFarms is coming alive with the passion of these heroes. These are their stories.
How will the Kiwi Farms ever survive without
the patronage of UAE and New Zealand?!

Apparently he's known for being inactive for weeks/months at a time here and there so I wouldn't be surprised if he went dark for awhile.
In other news...
In a chat I'm in, someone who is themselves a nintendo emulator autist sperged out hard and said kiwifarms constantly drives people to suicide. They went on about how the only thing you hear about this place is the nonstop harassment from people around here. I asked if they had any examples of harassment.
They don't. No one can seem to find any. However, it's obviously true because so many people say they're harassed by people around here! That's their logic, anyway.
This incident shows just how quickly some people pick a side without any actual information. I get that he's important in his scene on the internet but to just pop up out of no where and say "take the thread down or i neck myself" without any evidence of the harassment he apparently received from his thread on life support is such a dipshit move. Using self-harm of any kind as a threat is what crazy people do and it's rare for suicide victims to explicitly mention suicide like that before following up as far as I know.
Obviously Byuu is not all there in the head but come the fuck on.
edit: Adding that I've only experienced one person in my life who actually tried to commit suicide and while hindsight is 20/20, it came out of no where for everyone he knew at the time.

Man, everytime I hear from these guys and this podcast is them sharing a shit take that noone cares about. I feel like it has to be intentional at this point just to remain relevant.

It's so funny how Kiwifarms makes the rest of the internet extremely mad when we all just stay on our forum. 4chan's /pol/ was organizing raids and shit for ages. 4chan/8chan /v/ was doing gamergate ops for years, as faggy as that shit was. What does Kiwifarms do? Have you ever seen a kiwifarms poster in the wild? Someone going, "oh yeah, I'm a kiwifarms poster" on the greater internet? No? I've seen Chan guys do it though.
I'm pretty sure at this point the anger just comes from the forum having the audacity to document and point out bad behavior, even if that bad behavior never gets acted on. It was never about punishment, it was about laughs. I was pretty frequently in the Digibro thread and never once did I think I was punishing or was going to punish Digi. In fact, most people were pretty much like "damn it's sad this went this way but it's pretty fucking funny"
