The Gun Control Debate Thread - Controlling autism since 2022

Mate, do you know who Theodore Kaczynski is? That man made bombs out of fertilizer, same with Timothy McVeigh. There's also a nice manual from the U.S. Army that was released to the public thanks to the Freedom of Information Act that describes the workings of improvised explosives.
Fertiliser bombs got mentioned earlier. ANFO is easy to make but it's only a tertiary explosive. You need a high explosive booster to detonate before it'll go off, and you can't make that in your unabomber cabin.

You ninjaed my response to wtfNeedSignUp. That was the exact event I was going to cite regarding the government getting forced to change policy due to outraged and armed citizens. FBI reworked their entire way of dealing with cults and groups after OKC.
Yeah, having over 100 of your employees be injured or killed with hundreds of millions in damages tends to have you reevaluate some things. Still, I find it surprising that we thought of the same thing when it came to two different people.

"How to make Uncle Joe's "lung remover" out of bunch of junk bought online."
Well, I know what I'm NOT doing in the future.

Depends on how much damage you want to cause. Like for Ted K, he was only looking to kill 1 person at a time with small, package sized bombs. Whereas McVeigh wanted to cause a whole bunch of shit that'll make the feds wince. It's all about purpose.

Depends on how much damage you want to cause.
I guess? If you want to cause "no" damage, you can make your ANFO bomb without a booster charge, but if you want to cause "any" damage you're going to need a nitro-based booster charge in your ANFO or it'll just sit there smelling like piss and oil and upsetting people.

Some random dude in China actually tried this before. He ignited ANFO by put it into a hydraulic pipe and light it up with sheet metal welder. Don't know how he manage to did that but apparently he lost his arm in that explosion.

What a retard. There's probably a few other ways you could conceivably set it off, like a thermal lance or a plasma cutter, maybe. But in that case it's not so much a 'bomb' as a 'very loud suicide'.

I'm pro gun, but I'm interested in asking this thread. How would YOU propose solving the school shooting question? I know its common to compare shootings to other deaths and say they aren't as bad, I'm not looking for an answer like that, I'm just curious how to solve this in particular. Personally I think like 1-2 armed security guards would be a great deterrent and might significantly improve the situation

Also, what would people think about limiting gun sales to only pistols/hunting rifles for people under 21, and then they can get other guns? Would someone <21 need to even buy any other type of gun?

Israel is good example to follow but there's a catch. Most important jewish schools are bomb resistant, have 24 hour armed guards, CCTV and layered security where you are not going through the door without them double checking your identity. It does work. But A) It's a lot of work and therefore B) It's not cheap.

While I can imagine a couple of rich private schools might be willing to implement something similar but your average highschool in America is underfunded anyways. 1-2 armed security guards might stop a half assed attack with guns or knives. Or limit the damage at least. But look at Christchurch. It was over and done in less than 3 minutes. The upper hand that assault weapons give people when it comes to these attacks is monumental. I think a general ban on weapons of war is needed to really mitigate the problem in America.

Look at yesterday's attack in Denmark. The suspect only had access to a hunting rifle. Only 3 people were killed. Not 10-40.

You can't stop them from happening, even if you were to take every firearm away from all civilians people who want to commit violence and mass murder will just do so with whatever else is on hand:
What you can do is reduce the reasons that cause people to commit these crimes. Dismantle organized crime/drug war, heavy investment in finding a cure for common mental illnesses, and committing to reforms that reduce poverty in the country as a whole.

This is assuming of course, we didn't live in Clown World. Where the federal government's three letter agents take advantage of the above to cause violence and push agendas:

Fair, though Christchurch is a sort of bad example. That guy was pretty trained and efficient, and it wasn't a school. To my knowledge the majority of school shootings are of the "half-assed" variety, so some security guards would help I reckon

So what would be a solution given that we ARE in clown world? Is there any way to combat glowies from attacking schools?

There are no solutions. That's the ugly truth of the matter, and you just got to accept that this shit happens.

Chad Chink had no access to any firearm. 5 people were killed and 8 injured. Not 3-4.

Now let's ban high performance sport vehicle.
Ewww, you read chink. Let me hook you up with a job.

But you do need a high school degree. I'm being very generous and I'm assuming you have one. Keep us safe from the Yellow Peril my friend!

Edit: There was a new mass shooting yesterday! Happy 4th of Julaaay everyone! I'll leave you with this banger.

I have come here to get lulz and chew bubblegum...and I'm now chewing bubbleegum.

In a state that heavily regulates guns. I wonder why your and Dyn's ideas have constantly been proven wrong
I'm more curious about why Chicago have more people killed even without a mass shooting

Turns out the FBI already knew about this guy. I wonder why the alphabet boys didn't do anything. Definitely just a mishap and not nefarious activity to further push the US into a police state.

Didn't the Buffalo shooter say he did the shooting in New York because they had strict gun laws? If that's the case, then he proved the gun control crowd's point of "more gun laws" are more harm than good.

I'm going to get into a slapfight with you all about gun control in a moment, but I wanted to share a gem so we can all have a laugh. I was searching around, trying to find if someone online had the exact rifle that was used. MSM was useless so I browsed a reddit link and...

Apparently playing tetris for 24 hours after a traumatic event can prevent PTSD.
