They have to ask those questions because when the call is listened to they can be docked by managers for not doing it.
I'm not surprised that a loser like you has lots of experience working in call center.
Yeah, I know the deal. It doesn't make it any less annoying, though.
The key is not being an absolute monger with tech.

Brief update since @Vyse Inglebard reacted to a bunch of posts. I got a new job. It pays more and I will not be dealing with retarded delivery drivers and the headaches of organizing deliveries with impatient and retarded Karen's.

BTW: I had a call on Thursday from a Karen screaming at me because they didn't get their extremely important QOL item that being a coffee table due to the fact that... You know... There's fucking massive flooding in Manhattan due to the storm. I only have to deal with this nonsense for barely 3 more weeks before I start my new job.

Stay strong, brother. It won't be long now.

I'm using up all my vacation time so it's really only another week and a half. I'm thinking of when to give them my 2 week notice. Since I had a bad experience at one job, I want to wait until everything is 100% confirmed, contracts are signed, I get the equipment (it's work from home), the start date is set and etcetera.

Yes, be VERY fucking careful. I once quit a job as a department manager of a retail store on the spoken promise of a job from a local PC maker in their QA/troubleshooting dept. as group manager. You know already how that ended up.

On the plus side, it led me to apply and get a far better position elsewhere, but that was after 6 months of no income, nor welfare since I quit voluntarily. :(

Cross ALL your Ts and dot ALL your I's, no matter how tempting it is to drop your notice at the perfect time before the starting date is confirmed, but I guess you already know that. ;)

Yeah, I had one job where I aced the test, aced the interview, it was going to be working for Apple and as we're signing the paperwork and everything one guy is like "Uhm, not to alarm you, but Apple has not signed the contract on the building yet. But don't worry!" Literally like 3-4 days before we were set to start Apple pulls out and I could have gotten another job that I was offered. That was a learning experience.

Although this is a personal piss-off, it's related to my work.

Today, I received an e-mail from one of my clients with a subject line suggesting they were having an issue that needed my assistance. I open it and it's some chain letter joke going around that pokes fun at President Biden.

I realize that people sending personal e-mail to their professional contacts is a thing. But at least change the subject line so I'm not thinking I have to handle an urgent issue when all that's being sent is a political joke -- especially when I'm busy working on something to meet a deadline that's days away.

I decided to speak to a higher up at my shitty new job about it not being what I was promised and basically got brushed off with "well you know I noticed some people that come here have expectations that are very different to what the reality of the situation is". This person interviewed me. Like, nigga, you know exactly what my expectations were and if you told me the truth I'd never have taken the job. I don't know if this person is a retard trying to be diplomatic and failing or if this was some big dick 4d chess power move basically calling me a punk bitch for expecting to get what was promised.

In the same meeting they also told me "we want to make this job work for you but you need to tell us what it is you want". Which is also fucking weird. I told you what I wanted when I interviewed and have since told you what I don't like and what I want multiple times. Feels like they're just setting it up to gaslight me later when I eventually quit "but why didn't you try to work things out, we would have helped you but you're just quitting".

I've already reached out to some contacts in the industry, no leads so far but hoping to get something soon so I can ditch this place.

Still to this day, 99% of the passwords on the Blue Force Trackers the military uses are the default password which is another name for the device. "FBCB2 " Assuming someone has told the Taliban this, and we left BFTs in the country, they can see the locations of every single ground US military vehicle using one in the world. Of course, this information is likely to be useless because no one knows how to update these so half the MRAPS, and humvees are listed as M1A2 Abrams tanks.

The password is kind of pointless if they don't have the most up to date COMSEC they shouldn't be able to access anything.

Also fuck the whole BFT line of systems. Biggest pain in the ass.

Reminds me of a temp job I took. Applied for a $20/hr lab tech job. Got a minimum wage phone sales job. I finished the day then ghosted them.

Had a guy quit the job I had, because he joined right as we went into a slow period. So rather than being paid $20/hr to test units, we were paid $20/hr (well, he was, I was paid more due to being there long enough to max out pay) to sweep, and replace tape markers on the floor, and basically just look busy for a month or two before we got slammed again. Slow times never bothered me as we were paid the same base rate, granted no overtime, but still as long as you "looked" busy nobody bothered you.

He apparently threw a fit that he had a college degree and was better than that, dammit.

Supervisor has us in a meeting, laying down some new rules and threatening to cut or change hours on people if we don't perform well enough.

Very next day at work, I don't have a mid-day worker to help me out.

Past couple of weeks, there have been scheduling issues that made it so that we didn't have anybody to help openers and closers, as well as assigning people to overnight leaving a bunch of day tasks unattended to. So, how am I suppose to perform well enough and do everything I need to do without someone in mid-day to help me out?

I swear this lady doesn't seem to know what the fuck she's doing. Ever since she arrived things have been made harder for absolutely no reason. Doesn't help that she's passive aggressive towards me and even accused me of not being pro-active enough and wanted to re-train me despite probably everybody else in the store praising me for what I do. Meanwhile, she takes a vacation and then went on her honeymoon over the course of a couple months, as well as having two other guys help her with her job, whereas my previous supervisor didn't need added help during the time the Wuhan Flu hysteria was at its highest. She replaced him at the beginning of this year when things were beginning to calm down a bit.

Found out later that she's a lesbian. Probably has a persecution complex.

Thankfully, she's supposedly transferring in a couple of months.

My boss freaks out at me about "dozens" of put options showing up!!! This means the entire stock market is on fire and we're doomed.

All the contracts expire on Friday.. so just reupping.

(Traditionally you wait till last second to re up).

Why he doesn't know this managing an office of financial people. Or he's trolling me.

I suppose there will always be those that would rather complain about menial off-peak tasks than enjoy the lucrative pay they're getting to do them.

That sucks, especially if you're a guy and she's taking stuff out on you for that reason. A former boss I may have written about here treated me like dirt. Just after I turned in my two-week notice, she told the other person in our office about her bitter divorce and how she didn't think highly of men ever since then. All of a sudden, her behavior - especially towards me - made more sense and made me happy I decided to leave when I did.

I got pulled over for two things-- first, going 72 in a 65, which is neat as my truck is governed at 70, but I would have gone 72 if I could so I can't really complain.

Two, and this has to be the real reason I got nabbed-- I have no front license plate. I have represented to my company and the leasing company that this is a problem for, oh, a year since the first day I got this truck.

They don't want to block the (stupid, worthless) "augmented driving" components from bleeping randomly at pockets of air or restless shades which the computer interprets as an imminent collision.

I'm glad he let me off with a warning, but honestly a ticket might have been more convincing. It's not like I won't drive without the license plate. I like money.
