TLDR: If HR 875 (named Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025) passes, it would make a single DUI/DWI a deportable offense. It's also retroactive, meaning it affects past convictions and makes them grounds for deportation

ALSO, on a slight power level note, a Indian guy I went to grad school with is getting deported over FELONY drug possession... Allegedly he had a LOT of weed on him when he got pulled over recently.

Thing is.... The EXACT same thing happened to him a few years ago and he got out of it with community service and a ticket.

Oh as an engineer, I never stay at a job for longer than four years. You won't even get pay raises that keep in pace with inflation.

And it's always hilarious when the manager tries to give you the whole "one day, you are going to realize how important loyalty is". Usually it's the guy that let go half the business unit because something something young engineers are assholes for wanting a living wage.
