We've had several different people independently say that if India became communist during the cold war India, and thus its people would be in a far better place today. The end of casteism would have made the average curry eater today less of an entitlted narc for instance.

India has a terrorist group called the Naxalites, which is communist and funded by the ISI (Pakistan). They have caused tons of damage to the Eastern part of the country, and that is why that area is underdeveloped

 
Not so sure communism would be good for India. People that grew up in or whose parents come from former commie nations tend to be bitter and lacking in morals and values. ie) Albanians and Romanians.

Mainland Chinese are quite different from ethnic Chinese from Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. The latter tend to be more compatible and complementary to Western values. Mainlanders are more greedy, lack manners, commit more crime and will stab you in the back when given the opportunity. Same genetics but worse attitudes coming from the horrors of communism.

Communism will worsen all Indian stereotypes but it would be funny seeing the Brahmins get knocked down a peg or two.

I think communism in India will work in the context of getting rid of huge wage gaps between the ultra-rich and the poor. However, similar to other outsiders, the caste system will pose a significant obstacle. The Muslims (Persians, Turks, Arabs), British, French, Portuguese, etc, tried and failed to get rid of the caste system. In some cases, they just adopted it for themselves.

Something similar will happen to India, like with China, they'll try so hard to get rid of the caste system or old ways but will still be there because it's so ingrained into that culture and society.

Yes, but also no. Depends on the location tbh. A lot of chinese fled from japs and the civil war to hong kong and Taiwan.

Taiwan and Mainlanders like to think they are more different than they really are. Same goes for hong kong and mainlanders, except people from hong kong are kinda uppity cunts.

Truth is the biggest cultural difference between mainlanders and others Chinese is, the government is most likely to cheat the people and and the people are more likely to cheat the government, and business owners are usually caught between both sides cheating both.

I would argue this is how their society is structure, while the fact that indians cheat everyone is a reflection of the moral of them as a people.

Sure china sucks, but chinese people show signs to me that they don't like how things are. Chinese gutter oil is disgusting, but...universally Chinese people hate it, and want it to stop. While the food clips posted here seem to be beloved as an example of great cuisine. Since pets became more popular in China, younger Chinese show more hate towards animal torture. Chinese people don't like the government, most hong kongers and Taiwanese also don't like or trust mainland government. Mainlanders don't either, I know an acquittance that gunned it through a military check point during covid, was pretty easy, they don't have guns.

I think the differences between Chinese diaspora is shrinking. I think people like to think they are more different than they really are, but the more civilized ideas they get the more the perceived differences shrink and the less amoral they get. They all seem to agree, chinese government sucks. Most immigrants I know in america sees the chinese government is like the Mafia.

While india, well, still india.

Hell, considering the nazis killed at best like 40% of the jews in Europe, while the mongols, depending on the source, may have killed 70% of the persian population, its the most efficient way for sure.

Reminds me of the ironic fact that Paradox Interactive says genocide is verboten in all of their games but let's you take loans from and then expel the Jews willy-nilly in Crusader Kings.
