I run an airbnb, and the first time I ever had a jeet rent the place for the night was also the first and only time I found random garbage just thrown around outside the building. I've never had anybody else do this.

I've had friends/business partners constantly building up the whole airbnb thing, specially in flordia since condo prices dropped.

The rabbit hole goes much deeper than what I divulged in this article. Deloitte will fight very hard to maintain their government contracts and continue leeching off of the American taxpayer. I spent a long time trying to figure out why nothing changes, and the answer was almost depressing. Deloitte's systems are just baked into everything, a cancer metastasized into the bloodstream that feeds on tax dollars instead of glucose. I have a bit of evidence that might suggest payoffs, quid pro quo, etc, but the truth is more difficult. Nobody in the government wants to fix it because the tax dollars keep flowing in.

Now take into account that Deloitte (and the other Big 4 firms) also provide the majority of audit and assurance services to many federal and state government programs and you see why a lot of this doesn't get brought up until years down the line.

The feds allocate money to the states to run their programs. The states hire Deloitte to consult/build whatever with this grant money. The federal government requires all recipients of federal funds over $750k to undergo an audit. The state already has a relationship with Deloitte, so they hire them to perform the audit. There is technically no independence issue, because Advisory and Assurance are separate entities under the Deloitte umbrella. Anyone with a fucking brain understands that you're not going to throw your own company under the bus, so surprise, surprise, the audits end up with clean opinions and maybe some suggestions to tighten up the controls around certain things.

This goes on for decades until suddenly we find out Somali's have defrauded a state out of $19 billion.

This isn't exclusive to Deloitte, as I said earlier. All of the Big 4 have this going on, and they all have international branches where they do the same shit across the globe. The best part is, they swap employees constantly, especially the jeets. There was another "driving while dumb AF" earlier this week.

The driver lied (imho of course) and said he was backed into, causing his windshield, both side windows and mirror to be completely broken, so he decided, "You know what? I'm going to tape my entire side windows and mirror with duct tape. Surely no one will notice".
