I think what people don't understand (nor appreciate) is that it takes a lifetime to truly be a citizen of a country. I'm not that culturally different from America due to being in the Anglosphere, but the question is, could I ever become a true-blooded American? This isn't to say that I wouldn't fit in at all, but I would never truly be an American. As for Indians, the desire to be the citizen of another country isn't even there. What they really want is to be an Indian reaping the benefits of living in another country.

Perhaps, but a few key things:
  • You're telling on yourself way to hard here as you remind me of east asian friends I have who grew up in the west, who unconsciously start rooting for China whenever geopolitics comes up. I get why, but it's obvious. In saying that I entirely believe you're stuck in Canada and as usual my commiserations.
  • They have the same if not measurably worse demographic trends than every single western country due the one child policy fucking them.
  • The structural problems that the west faces are pretty similar in China. But off the top my head:
    • An imploding housing market.
    • Foreign capital outflows, which has lead to job loses. Lowered domestic and international economic demand which has led to job loses.
    • Massive youth unemployment.
  • As for your last point - that is a huge part of the reason why capital is flowing out of the country. The draw of China being the worlds forge was that they could undercut everyone else when it came to cost, but as those costs increase, that means the worthless parasites who outsourced jobs from the west will now outsource them to another nation. Horrifyingly enough - probably India.
I'm not saying China is fucked, but they've got some pretty severe headwinds that the rest of us have - and some.

They're also really obsessed with rote memorization, they're so obsessed with it that you could say they lack creativity, and it's why they made for such great bureaucrats but got BTFOd by the Europeans from 1600 onwards.
