I do not think this is a case of fraud, as our firm is very meticulous about verifying employees’ credentials during its background check process. But I just don’t think I’ve encountered another situation like this where I was initially expecting to be highly impressed by someone, but then was disappointed after actually working with them.

Thinking back to when I had to go through the hiring and onboarding process myself, and I’m not sure how he would have made it through that with fraudulent qualifications.

Who says it was him who got through? Applicants can hire an actually talented Indian to pretend to be them in the interview, usually it is done in video interviews, but there's probably enough Sarrs in your country for face to face interviews too.
People would be too racist to call out how the new hire looks different.

Like I said in another thread about a different topic, there's a reason why slavery was invented. At some distant time in the past, there were societies that were open to immigration. That led to enclaves forming which ended up causing internal division. So someone came up with a solution: import people into your citystate by force but destroy their old cultural identity. Make them spend many of their best years working and then reward them with freedom so they can start a family and have a decent chance at making a better life. This was how you can import enough people to keep your population sinks(i.e. cities) functioning without turning your country into Sweden 2035.

At no point in the past there was some utopian tolerant system where people were open to immigration. If anything bronze age tribal societies were multitudes more violent and slavery was common everywhere.

The indian caste system is indirectly a descendant of this - the lower castes are descendants of servile conquered and endlaved population that were used for manual and low-prestige essential labor and moving up the ladder was prohibited as this would reduce the slave underclass for the ruling elites.

If you thought about greek/roman slavery system, then even there freedom was usually only granted to educated slaves like scribes or stewards while mine and agricultural slave workers were nearly never freed.

It really is just fascinating to see the differences in Asian education practices, where they put so much emphasis on cramming, and competing with one another that they don't really learn to have an appreciation for learning. Instead, they are overworked and not given a chance to be happy, to have a good childhood. Especially when diminishing returns begin to come into play. Where, when more time is spent learning the overall quality diminishes a lot. Like vivek, the point of Christmas is cultural, it's rewarding (for the kids) and helps to give them a break. It's not that white kids are lazy, it's that they're kids and not all are going to be top 1% super geniuses who are going to go into finance or some shit like that.

Looking at how the Indian curriculum operates, it just seems that they combine the higher papers into the content for the normal shit and it is a lot of memory based questions. Not application, so what I am going to do is post something taken at a similar point in Britain because I find it funny as it would be completely alien to India's education.




Note, this is from the general maths paper that people choose to do as a subject, and is anticipated for most normal subjects requiring maths. There though, is a second Maths course that people can do (Higher) which includes more difficult questions.

It really is funny how India likes to act like they have the toughest exams. No, it's just that Indians like to compare it to general Maths exams, like with the SAT which is meant for everyone in the US. Whilst, the AP courses would be a far better comparison.

That question is literally just basic arithmetic if you remember Bayes' theorem. Part (i) is a hint used to answer part (ii). AP Stats is significantly harder.
