With the amount of electricity that flows through a main line it doesn't matter. The moisture in the wood will conduct, that's actually part of the reason why you trim branches near power lines. Does the education system just not teach people about the dangers of electrical lines anymore? What the fuck.

Also, specifically addressing the "poor conductor" question: lots of things are poor conductors. The human body is a poor conductor. But the conductivity doesn't matter if the electricity can complete a circuit through you and there's like 100,000+ volts flowing directly through your heart.

I vaguely recall maybe learning about power lines being dangerous, but this was before Current Year and "Common Core" bullshit infecting American education. Anyways, even if power lines are insulated, I still don't trust them. But here in America, power lines are out-of-reach -- or are underground -- and are well-organized, unlike ones in India.

Powerlines are rarely if ever insulated above ground. They simply don't need to be.
 
One of the most surreal experiences you can have as a jeet noticer is when the stereotypes literally prove themselves right before your eyes.

A few days I was on the bus going home from the gym when a drunk (white) fellow got sick in a bag and totally stunk out the place to the point other passengers were complaining and telling him to GTFO. At a subsequent stop a jeet came on and went to sit next to him, either completely unbothered by the smell or he just didn't smell it in the first place. There were plenty of free seats as well.

Literally a day after this a jeeta sat next to me on the bus to uni and she fucking STANK. I smelled it immediately - I don't even know what the fuck it was as her hair wasn't even greasy, but she smelled like she hadn't showered in a very long time. I told her to get lost and found another seat as no way was I enduring that for a twenty minute ride. Horrifyingly, based on what she was wearing she was a fast food worker. Reminder to everyone to not patronise jeet staffed businesses, especially if they work with your food.

Negresses are obese and loud with shit hair, MENA "baddies" are hairy and inbred, Asian girls all look alike and have no curves, Jewesses have weird kinky hair and hooked noses, and Latinas are also obese and can age really badly. I've seen beautiful women every race and ethnicity, but white women are by far the most diverse in terms of looks. We have redheads, blondes and brunettes, skinny queens and curvy girls to statuesque models to the athletic type, and everything in between. There are no other race equivalents to the legions of stunning women the white race produce - Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood, Sofia Loren, Gina Lollabrigidia, Gene Tierney, Angelina Jolie, etc. There's a reason non-white men are so obsessed with cooming over us.

The aerial feeds to houses generally, in the US, are because they're more likely to suffer incidental contact from homeowners with ladders etc. They're also much lower voltages though. Also it allows them to run a single run of 3 conductors instead of needing air space to insulate them.

Remember to tell your local Indian that those lines are made of pure, 100% copper and are very easy to steal. They're just silver colored to protect the copper from corrosion. (Yes, I know, but it would be funny anyway.)
