Well I just drop this here and move on. I liked all the challenges so far but unfortunately I can't keep up with them due to IRL. Life got intense and in rather good way but as con there I have less time for my favorite activities. Such a shame, really, but at the same time I don't regret. I had a lot of fun doing these.

Good luck to everyone who'll keep up with these.

Here is an egg! I decided on a Fabergé egg with Easter themes. I wanted a more water color-y sort of finish rathe than highly rendered.

HELLO YOU ABSOLUTE AUTISTS ARTISTS

Slightly later than advertised, I have arrived with the new challenge. I am dubbing it...

THE SHAPE OF YOU

We're doing a shape challenge this time. If you're not familiar with the concept, it means you can choose from the shapes provided below and create something within the confines of that shape.
Shape Challenge 1.webp
Shape Challenge 2.webp
Based on community feedback I am going to try and keep the rules as simple as possible to encourage engagement.

DO
Rotate/scale the shape
Combine the shapes
Use any medium you want
Make as many creations as you want
Re-use the same shape if you have multiple ideas you like
Use a shape of your own if none of the above spark your imagination*

DON'T
Alter the shape (any scaling should maintain the original aspect ratio)
Draw outside the lines
Make it lolcow related if you don't want to

Finally, remember the point of this thread is to have fun so treat these rules as general guidelines: do whatever you want to make things more enjoyable. This goes doubly so if you're not going to be working digitally. I'm not expecting you to print these out or trace your screen.

Shape Challenge Example.webp
You can use a website like this to generate a shape you like then save it as a transparent png or draw one of your own from scratch. If you go with the latter approach I try doing it loosely as possible because if you overthink it you'll probably subconsciously start creating a shape you already want to work with.

The challenge will run for 2 weeks or until one of the other challenge makers wants to start a new one. Have fun and thank you for your patience.

>the rules say this
>the examples explicitly expand the primitive heads into full busts

What did he mean by this?
That's why I added the caveat that you can basically do what you want. Pretty much all the examples I could find bent the rules like this and I'm not your art teacher so you won't get detention if you defy me (but I won't be putting your homework up on the wall in class either).

I assumed by drawing outside the lines that you meant you could add on to the already existing shape. Which was all I did, not lolcow related but it’s all I could imagine when I saw the shape
Pls no bully I’m terrible at this and made it on my phone

It could be on my end, but I don't think the images you posted uploaded correctly

I'm not an artist but if I was, I'd turn all your shapes into Handsome Squidward because for some reason that's just what my brain registers most of those outlines as.

I've been watching this thread since it first started and I'm finally contributing!

Most of them ended up looking vaguely like cartoon characters so I have labeled them as such.

This was very fun but I also did this in like roughly an hour so they all look pretty scuffed.
I may have also broken some of the rules lol my mistake

Yeah there's something fucky going on a couple of the posts are blurry like they're spoilered or loading on a 56k modem.

Great work so far everyone.
They are posted with an inline spoiler, there should be an area at the bottom of each image that you can click to unspoil them.
