Just watched it with the girlfriend. I was in the minority in that I really didn't like the first two trailers for The Force Awakens. This is a good trailer though - gives us enough to get excited and drops a few hints (or red herrings) without giving too much away.

Colour me excited.

I feel like the plot is gonna be similar to Empire Strikes Back.

Those speeder-things attacking those AT-AT-things on a barren world is very reminiscent of the opening battle of Empire, but to be honest I don't think they can make the story that similar to Empire. The Force Awakens's ending was quite different from A New Hope's ending which will (hopefully) stymie further similarities.

inb4 they copy The Phantom Menace and the whole movie is Luke and Rey trying to get a small business loan

So far it's been said via Rian Johnson and other sources that they're doing things much differently from other Star Wars films. The only way it sounds similar to ESB is that it's said to be the darkest installment in the trilogy like how ESB was.

In all honesty though, I'd rather have TLJ be a "rehash" of ESB and still be good than have it be trash because they decided to make it too different from the other films.

Watch the plot get leaked around May or June like what happened with TFA back in 2015 LOL

Yeah, while The Force Awakens played it safe by basically being a remixed New Hope, I actually didn't mind because they threw in a few interesting new ideas (I personally thought Kylo Ren was great) and it was miles better than the Prequels despite the fact that they had an original story. Although with The Force Awakens they had to play it safe because the Star Wars brand had become tainted as a result of the Prequels and they had to show it could work again. Now they've done that and it's been a massive success, I think they'll take a few more risks this time round. The big question is whether those risks will pay off or not.

The plot of The Force Awakens was actually leaked back in 1977.

Kylo Ren is fascinating because of the potential in his character. We'll see if Snoke can knock the wannabe out of him. I don't mind him being a wanna be Vader, because its an interesting motivation in my eyes

George Lucas may not be involved anymore, but his saying about the series still goes; "It's like poetry, it rhymes". As Force Awakens is proof of such.

I'm going to be the contrarian here, but I honestly didn't pull any information from this and the new Star Wars films have been having this problem for the past years. I wish they'd tell me the run down of what's going on in the film.
