Nah Sony is not in a good position with the PS5 coming out with little fanfare, Coronavirus messing with game development, and now Sony starting war with the internet. Not to mention Last of US 2 flopping will lose Sony a lot of money. Even you Sony fans have to admit Sony is fucking themselves.

Re-reading old Articles trying to explain TLoU part 2, they kept reiterating a theme about the game being about hate.
It ended up being a game where we hate Naughty Dog for killing off characters we liked, and making us play someone we hate.

The main PS5 event didn't even happen yet. And this isn't even a war with the internet either, that's blowing shit out of proportion. The last time a company blew up across the internet entire sites were shut down because of their legal team threatening everything, and that wasn't even a big happening.
They also moved Ghost up into the same quarter of TLOU2 to carry it.

They got people from bandai namco for the show and the game who worked on the Tales of series and Viz has the US rights to distribute the show and bamco will do the games in the US.

Which turned out to be not true because even unfetted garbage like Neko para wound up selling the most on PS4 and they even put the sequels on there.
The supposedly censored versions of the games wound up selling the most out of all of them. And then after that they even released the sequel which was unchanged across all platforms.
Sony's censorship policy turned out to be a boogeyman. People made shit up about stuff being censored or removed with titles like Kotodama

Oh yeah, it's so not true that they fucking announced it in a press conference on Nicovideo, told the Wall Street Journal that they were fucking doing it, and told other outlets they were because of #MeToo. Even the unwashed speds at Kotaku covered it.
It was only the very weebiest of weeb content that was hit by censorship, but we know from some very public fuck-ups that someone tried to make it happen. The censorship of weeby PS4 themes and of obvious weeb-bait content in games getting censored (even if it was in previous games with zero issues) was pretty much the reason that Kenichiro Takaki (the guy behind Senran Kagura) left Marvelous, and took SK with him. Marvelous was on good terms with Sony and producing for them meant accepting further and further censorship. That's what he told Famitsu, and why Burst Re:Newal got pushed back for months.
The uncensored version of Omega Labyrinth Life on Switch outsold the heavily censored PS4 version three to one. Senran Kagura: Burst Renewal's uncensored Steam port also outsold the censored PS4 port, getting into the top sales charts of the month in a month when games like Resident Evil 2 and Tales of Vesperia were already there.

Omega labyrinth life only sold around 50k copies. That's not exactly a resounding success or some kind of mandate against sony.
Resident Evil 2 sold way more across all platforms because RE is primarily a console series and their base is there, so citing steam charts is kind of useless because capcom makes 80-90% of their sales from consoles. Monster Hutner is the one that does about even from consoles to PC but Playstation will sell in the millions while Xbox doesn't even get close.
