This is one developer I remember being curated with ex-Naughty Dog “talent”:

I dunno. When people leave a successful company I’m inclined to believe they either had a seasonal contract or something else went wrong on their end.

The Initiative is a more recent team that had ex-Sony/ Naughty Dog devs, but a few of those people have already went back to Sony/ Naughty Dog. I don’t know what that’s all about.

New studios can’t resist the inflated hype of, “from the makers of [insert popular consoomer product]”, even if the work those specific people did with the game was expendable.

Seems like it. Here's the post he made about the threats, he also edited the post they tweeted about to say he got "10 insulting messages and three death threats."

The mods removed this comment from the death threat post, but the archive shows he commented with more threats he "received." He's not very good at coming up with good threats.

Interestingly, the archive for the old.reddit.com link to the threat post was made when the post was two minutes old. I don't know if OP archived his own post or if someone else figured shit was gonna hit the fan but I thought it was a little strange.

Needless to say his account has been deleted now, but here's a archive of it.

If I remember right two higher up people left The Initiative, but only one was Naughty Dog, the other was Insomniac and went back to Insomniac because his sibling died in a car accident and he couldn't take the stress of being a head guy while dealing with it. No clue about why the Naughty Dog guy left.

Why would a game in 2020 win an award for 2021? Tsushima is getting a full on expansion. Sony didn't even mention it's sales figures for 2021 because they consider the game finished from a development standpoint. Naughty Dog isn't even continuing work on it.

it's not even slotted in for a PS5 bundle.

One interesting thing i found out now was that ray chase is in the game snd he voices the wlf militia you fight for most of ellie's and later abby's segment.

Their next game may be in development hell, so I wouldn't expect any form of pants shitting drama until more news surfaces with what they're making next.

Like look how Cliffy B fell apart, it wasn't lawbreakers that broke him it was the game that came after. You're going to have to give this some time.
